Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
Haha one of my roommates actually told me to watch GoT a few months ago. I ignored him cause I thought it was boring and finally started last week. Marathonned 37 episode in 4 days and loved it. Problem is:
Spoiler
Jon ****ing Snow. Now he's told me about all sorts of fan theories and what not about his real origin but the only thing I can really say about it is that it seems obvious that he's going to win the game. He's been isolated and irrelevant the entire time he's been at the wall, separated from any characters outside of the Knight's Watch and it really seems like he's being shoved down my throat and will be the king. Even Dany is trying to get the throne back so she at least has a part in the game. I just don't understand Jon Snow's purpose unless he's the king and if he is the surprise was ruined by all of his screen time lol.
Side note, any one have any thoughts on Bran? I've been told by my roommate that his storyline is almost caught up to the books and I'm wondering how they're going to handle the Harry Potter issue of him being 25 by the time the show ends. Seeing him age in between seasons while marathonning was very strange.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Don't know if I'm in the minority here, but I actually enjoy Jon and the wall. As of right now, I think his story has been the most interesting of all of Ned's kids. Arya has been walking around for what seems like three seasons, Sansa has been doing nothing, and Bran would be a close second because Hodor cracks me up. I do fully expect all four of their story lines to pick up very soon though, and I'm looking forward to that. There's a lot of questions, what does Arya do since her aunt's dead, when's Bran going to get to that tree, Sansa finally joined the game, and why did Sam (knowing that there's only like one way to kill whitewalkers) let Jon walk into a death trap?
Also, what happened to Gendry? That dude's been rowing his boat for like an entire season.Comment

Gendy is a black smith in some town along the Kings Road I believe.
Jon's story is interesting but I think there is a lot of stuff that is happening at the wall in the books that is being left out of the show. There is a pretty cool character that the show hasn't even touched, which to me is disappointing and adds to the excitement of the north.Moderator

Is that from the book, or did I just completely miss that in the show? The last I remember is Ser Davos essentially smuggling him out of Dragonstone.
I know there was a Hot Pie appearance when Brienne & Pad were traveling. It'd be cool if Gendry, Hot Pie and Arya got the gang back together.Comment

I think Brann is going to play a bigger part in the series than Jon will, here's my theory with little evidence to back it up.
SpoilerBrann will warg into a dragon and rule. In his vision there was a dragon flying above King's Landing and I don't think that signifies Dany's rule. I could be totally wrong, but that's my theory. Brann's storyline hasn't been very exciting compared to the others, and that's going to change for sure, dragon warging or not.1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012

The fan theories I was referring to about Jon Snow's origin say that he isn't Ned's son and is his sister's son with a Targaryan. And I remember someone had a vision of the Iron Throne and there was snow on it. It'll be interesting to see how all of this plays out. I hate Jon Snow so I'm definitely rooting against him haha.

Do not read DieHardYankee's spoiler unless you want to be big time spoiled based on information gathered primarily from the books.PS: You guys are great.

So where about is the show upto in terms of books?...This show has been awesome for 4 seasons solid!
I'm definitely a fan of the Jon Snow and the wall!...loved the rag tag group of pip, gren and sam, would have to say daenerys storyline and the dragons has been slow this season and rather political, it's obvious she is going at some point make a push for the throne as it seems her army is more convincing than Stannis army at this point of time as it seems his main ally the fire queen is more smoke and mirrors than magic!...I just hope somebody takes off Cersei's smug head for giving Tyrion such a hard time!Last edited by Matty Aqua; 06-11-2014, 02:34 AM.Comment
