As Rob said, she's heading to Braavos with the coin that Jaquen gave her in hopes of finding him. She wanted to go North but they ships aren't sailing that way so her only option is Braavos or trying to make it to the Wall by land, which she knows is too dangerous and long a trip. Arya also thinks that her entire family is dead outside of Jon Snow and she's intrigued enough by the Faceless Men (Jaquen) of Braavos so that's where she's off to!

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
I thought the episode was solid, but they really rushed the ending and the lack of a few interactions that changed the characters in the next 2 books.
Book spoilers
SpoilerJaime telling Tyrion about Tysha was the reason he went to the hand of the king tower. Why would he go there otherwise? And they made him kill Shae in self defense? What was that BS?Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
Please excuse my ignorance, but would anyone mind giving me the details on Tysha, the Tyrion-Jamie dispute regarding Tysha and how the Tyrion-Tywin showdown really occurred in the books?
What was it that Jamie knew about Tysha that Tyrion didn't?
And...Spoilerhow did Tyrion kill Shae in the books compared to the show?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I will say that despite not having read the book, I still understood why Tyrion wanted to visit Tywin before escaping.
I think the show explained enough how the two of them really did hate each other and that Tywin had several times gone out of his way to rid himself of his imperfect child.
That might not have been the reason for his confronting Tywin in the books, but I thought the reasons sufficed from what the show gave us.Comment

Not sure what Tyrion went looking for without the context from the books. That doesnt add up at all.Comment

Spoiler
So she wasn't a whore after all, she actually loved Tyrion. The only woman he's ever known that truly loved him and his father had her raped and forced Tyrion himself to join in as well. The only other person who ever loved him, Jaime, lied to him and continued to lie about it for years until the prison escape.Tyrion met Tysha on a lonely road, where she was being accosted by some men. Tyrion's brother, Jaime Lannister, drove off the men while Tyrion took care of her. She was a crofter's daughter, orphaned when her father died of an illness. Tyrion fell in love with her and married her, even though he was only thirteen years old.
When Lord Tywin Lannister found out, he had Jaime tell Tyrion that Tysha was a whore who had been paid to make Tyrion a man. Tywin then had her passed around among his guards to have sex with her; for each guard, he gave her a silver. To drive the lesson home, Tywin forced his son to be the last man, for whom Tysha was paid a gold coin, because Lannisters were worth more.
Tyrion kills Shae in the same manner in the book, only it wasn't in self defense. It was simply because that bitch had it coming. I think it was going to be the same in the show, only Shae tried to kill him first. In any case, I don't have an issue with how her death was handled, it was a mild change and she should be expected to try to defend herself. I was wondering why she didn't start screaming the second she saw him to be honest.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-16-2014, 02:43 PM.PS: You guys are great.

It musta been hilarious for show-only people. Tyrion is about to escape through the depths of the dungeons and then **poof**, he's popping up through the floor in the Hand's chamber.

I was just wondering how the hell did a door from the dungeon end up in him being in the hand's chambers. But when I saw him finish Shae I didn't mind anymore. That was one death I couldn't get enough of. Im just mad Tyrion seemed sorry. F that! lol
Btw the Tywin stuff was so unsatisfying. I thought I would be happier about it.Comment

For me the Tywin death was awesome, but a little bitter sweet due to how great of an actor he was. An attachment you probably don't get when reading it happen.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

It wasn't explained as well(if at all, I don't really recall) as it was in the books but Tyrion having been acting Hand before, and being kind of close to Varys, resided in that same room and knew a lot of the ends and outs of the building, the secret passages and such.
Very good, so much to like and they did a good job tying some things up, but....
Mix of Book Spoiler/Thoughts and Questions.
SpoilerReally upset we didn't get Cold Hands or Lady Stonehart, but I think it is set up for Stonehart next season. Why did they have Varys get on the ship? He plays a major role in events at Kings Landing in ADWD.
Re: a question in the spoiler:
SpoilerHe disappears from King's Landing at this point in the book as well. Maybe the show will have him taking Tyrion to Illyrio personally since I don't think either were in AFFC outside of mentions. Not having those two appear next season wouldn't be great for the show. The events of ADWD that you allude to aren't in any danger of not happening though as he returned by the aforementioned secret passages.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-17-2014, 03:47 AM.PS: You guys are great.
