The old shows were averaging less than 100k viewers. SC averages 500k per episode. If half of those people watch SC on ESPNNews...thats an increase of millions of dollars in ad sales.

I am actually pretty surprised to hear those highlight only shows had such poor ratings. That's literally all I'm watching SC or Comcast's Sportsrise for. You never know what the featured discussion will be for SC when there's not a breaking story on Tebow/Arod/LeBron, so I don't know why people watch it over a highlights only show. I wonder if people have uttered the words, "It's that damn highlights only show again, change the channel." But I guess so.
There's so many places to get highlights from though. During the season(s) I watch NBATV for those or jump on nba.com in the morning when I get to work. Same for the other sports.

FS1 shows soccer so I'm cool with it.

So I'm only Canadian who couldn't stand Jay & Dan? I'm glad they're gone tbh. So damn annoying to watch. Good riddance to them, hope they stay in America. Maybe Sportcentre will be watchable now.

I mentioned it in my other post, but I'm really hoping they cover a lot of soccer news, besides just airing some games.

They have FOX Soccer Daily. I'm not a huge soccer fan so I haven't really watched it. I'm assuming it's the same format as FOX Football Daily.

Didn't FSN have a pure 30-minute highlight show for years (and maybe they still do) every weeknight?

They did. It was called The Final Score. I really enjoyed that show. My only objection was the sidebars being too big. It seemed like I was watching highlights on a postage stamp. But I loved how they hit the biggest stories of the day then still managed to move onward to each other major sport. Good stuff.

Still, when that show was around, Sportscenter was still mostly getting the job done. Their hour long show would have things like Chris Berman's 2-Minute Drill and an extended piece on the biggest story of the day (usually wrapped up with, "I'm Sal Palantonio, ESPNNNN") but highlights and the fullest coverage of each major sport still seemed to be their prerogative.

I really like Jay and Dan.

They need to get rid of that panel, though. And some of the segments they break away for are really stupid.

Maybe it's just because it's different than ESPN, but I am liking what I've seen so far of Fox Sports Live.

I forgot about ESPNEWS. Haven't watched it in a while because it's on the extended tier of cable. I don't get it.

That was my go-to years back. Always showed highlights, while WSOP or whatever BS was on the regular ESPN's.

From what i have seen so far im not impressed. Fox hired the wrong personnel for these shows. Show more highlights, and breakdown whats actually going on in sports.

FSN did but it was only in select markets and in markets that didnt have their own highlight show. It also wasnt successful.

I feel like Fox Sports Live is growing on me a tad. Much better than their kick off show. As long as the panel doesn't talk I'm good.

LOL! I find myself turning whenever the panel is on.
