    Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

lol ya. Sorta surprised Monica would give away the reward. At this point in the game, stuff like that makes no difference. At least not in this era of Survivor. Early seasons it might have worked, and early parts of seasons in general(when they were separate tribes) it'd work, but not when you're down to the jury part of the game.

NOBODY is ever gonna be like "Monica gave me food in that last challenge, I think it'd be best to keep her around for another tribal or two just for that."

She just gave energy to all the people she was beating at challenges. I could understand if this happened at camp(meaning everyone gets a feast at camp and she didn't,cause then maybe she could just take that time to go looking for an idol(something people in past season didn't do,which was real stupid, it was best time in Survivor history to go looking for an idol, and they didn't!))

Yeah I think Probst nailed it at tribal, calling it "political" for Monica to give up the food. But then again, she's a walking skeleton, one french fry probably fills her up . With her history of over strategizing, I'm guessing she was trying to bank some credit. No point in that really, not this deep into the game

With people getting food now though, looks like we won't get Survivor Auction.

Was sorta hoping they'd have the challenge where Jeff offers people food for stepping down as well, cause that's another thing we usually see in Survivor seasons.

3 more Wednesday episodes before finale.Based on other 2 Redemption Island seasons, we won't see anyone return until the finale show.

My guess is that she's a vegetarian and didn't want the food.

Either way a move like that puts more of a target on your back than gains you favor with the group. Maybe she just wanted to do something nice for them, but it certainly doesn't get her closer to the end.

            Again Survivor noob here.

Lol at them giving out clues to a secret idol that has already been found. I just dont get the point of it. Now this Jack Skellington guy pretty much can coast his way around town. It seems like something that should reset every so often.

Nobody knows he has the idol, so why would they just be like "We're not giving out clues because ___ found the idol already".

Obviously nobody there knows who has it. But its a flawed concept if one person can have it an entire game and it never be used. Or have that dynamic of the game never come up because a head honcho is secretly in possession of it. After a set number of days the show host should say the immunity idol has reset or something like that, never acknowledge it being found or not, but that there is a new one available after the previous one has failed to be used after x days; the previous one becoming invalid of course.

It just seems pretty lame from what Ive seen of it. Idk maybe I'm missing the awesomeness of it with the way its been handled/used/horded this season.

If he plays it or if he gets voted out with it, then it would likely be put back into play (depending on how late it is in the game). Until then there should only just be one. Although, there could have been two, if a member from each tribe found one while they were separate tribes

Finding an idol gives you power in the game that no one else has. If it's known that someone has it they immediately become a target just to flush it out. The awesomeness of the idol comes from the strategic element of it. No one wants to get voted out while holding it and if they do play it at the right tribal, then it's a thing of beauty.

                    Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

If someone wants to hold onto an idol for the whole game, it's their choice, that's the point of the idol. If they feel safe enough, they can just hold onto it for the game and never have to use it and then basically eliminate the use of an idol in the game. It's part of their strategy.

Some seasons(like last year) needed the idol to be played to make a huge move. This season, big things already happen all season long without idol.

And at the final tribal to use the idol, maybe Tyson(if he's still in the game then) will win immunity, then he gives the idol to someone else(without even telling them until the moment he plays it) and then completely blindsides someone else if he didn't have the numbers to control the game at that point.

Maybe she was just trying to avoid having to pick someone but that might be too subtle for Monica. She probably was going for the brownie points.

                        Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

Monica was definitely trying to suck it up to the rest of the team. Which was stupid, because if I were her, I would have taken Ciera and tried to persuade her into making an all girls alliance.

Which is another thing I just don't understand about the game. Ciera, Monica, and Laura should have known that even though they were in Tyson's alliance, they are on the bottom of the pecking order. So why didn't they plan something with Katie to blindside one of the guys?

Or at the least, why didn't Katie bring this up to the girls?

                        Regards to next week's preview:

Does anyone else think that Ciera and Katie look 100x better than Day 1? I used to think both were average at most, but now they're beginning to look good.

That's 1 thing about Survivor, after people being there for so long, some people look better on Survivor than in real life lol. They look one way during the show, then when they go to the live shot at the finale(which is 8 months after what we just saw on tv) people often look so diff, and for some people, you'll look at them and be like "They looked better on the show"

I think he just wanted more money lol. Knowing Survivor won't be around forever and outside of Survivor, he's not really a known name, so basically milking his time on the show.

Though some people do seem to go on shows for non game reasons. Big Brother for example, at times I think some people just want to be on the show, because they're in a house where they don't pay for anything and get any kind of food they want, whenever they want it and have pools, treadmills, weights among other things.

So when people see Big Brother like that, they think they can go on Survivor, and be on some tropical island and relax/compete for a month and win a million dollars, but once they realize producers give them very little and the elements tear away at peoples bodies, it's too much for them to handle.
