The guy that plays Gordon seems so familiar to me and then it clicked:

    or am I stretching?

Anyways, i'm not too bothered by the amount of villains; after all, this is Gotham before Batman and get to see how a not exactly clean city becomes one that is utterly corrupt to the core of its being. That being said, I don't like how every single villain is interconnected the way they are here. Hopefully they'll have story arcs or episodes that has a focus on villains who don't make into the Batman era.

I also didn't like the guy who plays Alfred and Fish Mooney is played WAY too campy for me to take seriously though I will give Jada Pinkett Smith some credit, she certainly comes off very different than her screen persona has been over the years.

I will be watching this show with great interest.

I'm not even a fan of superhero stuff and I thought the premiere was really good. Gave it a shot because I thought the premise was interesting, so far I'm glad I did.

I don't really know how I felt about it. A lot of the acting/writing seemed really bad to me. I'll give it a few more episodes to see how it grows.

I swear I read the "bad acting/writing" comment in every single TV show thread I've ever read. I'm sorry for singling you out, it's nothing against you, it just seems like it always gets mentioned in every thread.

All good. Doesn't change what I think though. Particularly the

Just super cheesy. Definitely some good stuff in the first episode and I'm looking forward to how they develop some of these characters though.

I think some of the cheesy dialogue was more for those who aren't big time comic book fans. There are some continuity stuff that bothers me as well but I realize they're developing their own separate TV universe so I can overlook it a bit.

                    Re: Gotham

I liked it but I'm not 100% sold on it yet. I think that's mostly because some of the acting /dialogue wasn't all that great, and I'm almost never one to notice or complain about that.

I do like Ben MacKenzie as Gordon though, which I wasn't sure I would. I don't know exactly what it is but for the most part he seems to play Gordon the way I would imagine him.

I also like the guy playing Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue?).

Alfred on the other hand was disappointing. I don't like him being an uppity prick.

I agree with Watson that there were probably too many villains introduced in the first episode. I would have preferred for them to be spread out over the course of the season. Interesting that they seem to have included Joker in the pilot, although I feel like that might not be Joker himself and just the writers throwing the fans a bone and also making viewers assume that's him.

All in all it was a decent pilot and there's a lot of potential here. They're bordering the line of dark and campy IMO so hopefully they don't go the latter route.

I think if/when they find their stride this could be one of the best shows on TV. I just hope they're able to and aren't cancelled or feel like they have to constantly go the supervillain route. I'd prefer for them to focus more on being a cop show, at least early on.

I liked this quite a bit. I always worry about new show/movie starting with origins. But the stuck with a lot of the cannon of the DC universe concerning the mythology of Gotham and the Batman Universe. All of the characters seemed to be well cast and I am genuinely interested to see where this goes.

I loved the first episode and liked seeing various characters when they were younger.

A few question's since I am not 100% familiar with all the Batman comics.

The scene where Fish Mooney is watching a guy cracking jokes and she tells him he's doing fine then she gets the call from Bullock regarding Gordon.

Don't really think that's spoilers as we don't even KNOW if that's going to be the Joker.
