Just a couple thoughts --- I love the chemistry of this show.

It may be one of the best all the way around on television.

Robin Lord Taylor is insanely good IMO as the penguin.

Donal Logue and Ben McKenzie have a great chemistry between them. I look forward to their interactions.

I love Falcone and Maroni --- both actors have great track records and have done wonderful things, and their presence on this show is much needed.

In terms of arguably my favorite actor on the show so far, Sean Pertwee (Alfred) is solid. I saw him in a couple of British indie horror films a while back and was waiting for him to get an American TV show opportunity.

And finally, lots of recent talk about the Riddler, Cory Michael Smith. Well being a native Michigander as I am and he being from Ohio (Columbus), the jury is still out on him.

I think I'm the only one here that doesn't like Penguin

Love the mob guys and Fish, the doctor with Gordon is so adorable, cat girl is good, Alfred, and the Riddler are the ones I like.

Something rubs me wrong about Gordon and Bullock, penguin (and his Mom) and young Bruce. Can't really put my finger on it but from reading this thread I'm guessing it's just me.

Good show but I can't rank it among my top favs right now. Maybe it's because I'm not much of a comic guy so I don't know anything about anyone coming into the show, although I thought that was the point of having a "prequel" type show. That's probably the wrong word, but oh well, you know what I mean.

Penguin, lately, has been dull to me. Ever since he was outed as Falcone's bitch he started to lose his edge. I like the overall performance of the actor, but as a characterization of Penguin I've never really gelled with. His mother and lack of high prestige family misses out on one of his more interesting aspects and foil to Bruce.

Why was she A-OK with having two strange, adolescent girls just chilling in her apartment when she got back?

She seems like the total klutz. I get annoyed every time see makes an appearance ever since she went to see Falcone after Gordon told her to leave town.

The Fish stuff jumped the shark. She kills a guy with a knife, so she becomes the strongest person there. Then everyone follows her and is willing to be beaten to death. Now she is calling the shots while in prison. Whoever is running the prison is an idiot. Its not like they targeted the prisoners, Fish was captured. Put a bullet in her head and ask who else has a problem. Yes they need the organs, but I'm sure they could find some replacements.

Fish is the worst part of the show to me. I get that its a based on a comic but some of her acting is just way too over the top. I may be alone in that though.

So the guy that Fish killed in "prison" was the baddest dude because he was the only one with a blade? Did I miss something or was that concept totally out there?

Yeah it was out there but I assumed it was more to it than just having a knife.

The way I saw it was that we were to just assume the guy was the baddest man in there, but a beautiful, confident woman is the only one who could get close enough to kill him.

Once she comes in out of nowhere and takes him down like it's nothing, that will make some fear her immediately. Others will follow because she speaks as if she has their best interest at heart, where the other guy was just happy to be in charge and have them all fear him. And finally, the thugs are always mindless followers... none have enough upstairs to be the boss so they'd get behind the brain.

That transition was great to me, actually got me more into the show which started to drag a bit imo. However, I do agree that the prison guards could've easily gotten rid of her and used it as an example to stop anyone else from thinking about stepping out of line. Lots of organs to choose from, losing hers would be addition by subtraction.
