Dude, wow. I really like this move. Just walked out.
I need to scroll back a few pages and get caught up on all spoiler discussion before I dig deep but my first take coming right out the theater is this movie is a lot of fun and I really don't have many issues at all. It seems sloppily edited in a few spots, and some of the song choices are cringeworthy, but other than that I thought it was a really good time and adds to the DCU in a great way moving forward. I wouldn't mind never hearing Seven Nation Army in a movie again. Bohemian Rhapsody fit well with it's scene though.
Not sure what the critics were looking for in a movie that has characters named Killer Croc and Captain Boomerang. I guess if you watched this in an art class at film school you could break it down and destroy it but I don't think this movie was trying to change your life, it is just trying to entertain you. And I was entertained.
Really loved the acting. Waller, Deadshot, and Harley are FANTASTIC. Joker is OKAY, didn't see enough to call him great but saw enough to know he isn't a disaster. Everyone else, all the supporting characters, were at least solid and some were very solid. Enjoyed Croc and Boomerang quite a bit.
Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie are two of the most attractive women on the planet IMO so that definitely doesn't hurt.
I believed in the characters motives and personalities, I felt their chemistry was genuine. Really well acted movie, IMO. I cared about the squad
Can't wait to see what the future holds in the DCU!
The couple cameos were nice too
7.5 out of 10, will watch again.
I think this is a good comic book movie and worth seeing.
Edit
I cant say much about the directing and editing and all that jazz but this cast is great. I really bought into them. I think they got gold here with this cast and hopefully can cash in on them with future films
