Drunk people sometimes pass out with a cigarette in their mouth, which exponentially increases their odds of burning in their sleep.

I know someone who did this and managed to catch his clothes and the bed on fire. Lucky for him he remembered the whole stop drop and roll thing.

My main concern is that if I have wood, and it's not getting wet, it may combust at any moment. It's the ol' "if you don't use it, you lose it" theory. I'm trying to figure out a way to make sure that anytime I'm in my bed, my wood is wet.

You'll definitely need your wood inserted into something moist at all times. This can get expensive, but it's well worth it.

I have a memory foam mattress myself, and luckily I have no trouble finding something I can insert my wood into to keep it wet at all times while I sleep. It greatly reduces my risk of death by burning mattress.

Sometimes having your wood dry and unused can yield better results. Let the wood sit for a while untouched. When you finally go to use it the burst of flame you get from it will be even bigger.

That can get really messy and the flame may burst earlier than you expect, which can cause great embarrassment.

I like that it can also absorb body heat, as you sleep. Its like laying on a huge oven mitt. Which makes it safe to sleep. Also, there's no fear of setting your mattress on fire, while you sleep.

Yeah, I've always been afraid I might set my mattress on fire while I am sleeping. I guess I better switch to memory foam before I arson my own mattress while I'm asleep.

Its also used in condoms. I'm not a fan of that. That material stinks.
