Not to mention she negotiated the deal with the Hilltop. If Negan's people have been there to collect since that happened, they might have spilled the beans. Perhaps to save themselves. Remember, they used that one guy as a decoy to get in to that Saviors compound so if Negan's people have gone to the Hilltop since, they probably want to figure out the link between Rick/Alexandria and the Hilltop.

The Saviors seem smart, abundant, and united. They've taken many L's to Rick's group already but this trap they set and their foundation on the whole (ruling the area and basically enslaving other communities) is unlike anything Rick's group has encountered.

Also, Glenn went nuts when Negan pointed that bat at Maggie. He knows she means a lot to at least one person. BUT, if Maggie got it, then Glenn probably dies too. He wouldn't be able to control himself. Hmm, them both going would be fitting. I can't imagine one without the other. Makes me sad.

I can't imagine any show would portray a dude brutally beating a woman to death with a bat. Maybe if it's another woman but even that's a stretch. I doubt it's any of the women.

You just spoiled that 2 characters died in the comics.

                    The Walking Dead (Season 6)

Didn't say who it happened to in the comics. I referred to the emotion we felt when this scene happened in the book. Then gave a small list of cast that could illicit that same feeling on the show through reasonable process of elimination. The entire post was speculative. You're looking at the post from an angle you shouldn't be and adding meaning to things you shouldn't be. Read it again.

I imagine if he's gotten this far then he would see the value in someone the group looks to for leadership.

That's why he wouldn't kill Rick. Rick masterminded the deaths of his people. You keep that guy alive longer to learn what he knows and see if you can convert him and make your group stronger.

If Maggie could negotiate a group to essentially risk death in exchange for supplies that would keep them out of harm's way, you probably keep her to make that deal for your own benefit.

                      That's my guess, at least.

I don't know, I see your point, but he's already 'pegged' Rick as the leader and knows if he breaks Rick, he breaks the whole group. Giving the bat to Maggie would def break the group and Rick.

But being sick and weak right now could prolong Negan wanting to kill her. She appears to be dying as is, so let her suffer take out another big player, wait on Maggie.

I agree but the 'I might as well end her now' line just sticks out.

On the show it didn't look like he was being random with his game, to me it came across he knew who to hit the whole time and was just toying with the group more.
