He has been in the US for a long time, has a clean background, so its not easy to replace. They could hurt him, say he has a bad car accident, beat him up or torture him, etc. The issue is that Philip may run, Elisabeth won't even after the beating. If they threaten their kids, it may push Elisabeth over the edge.

May be an interesting path to take. Running from both the FBI and KGB.

Yeah, I think it could be really interesting but would have to be short lived... and I don't see the series going in any other direction after the conclusion, whatever that may be.

JayBee, true but this is REALLY bad... and I'm not sure Elisabeth has his back if it did come down to that (especially considering the kids who she'd choose if a choice needed to be made).

The problem with The Americans is their ratings always give them a chance to be short lived no matter the critical acclaim or the fact that the top FX dogs love the show.

I think it will get bad for Phillip if Martha gets in the hands of Stan The Man, particularly if he goes out of his way again to protect her again.

We started watching this a month or two ago and just now caught up with real life.... which kind of sucks.

Anyway, this last few episodes have been amazing. The chick that plays Martha has been killing it this season. The scene a few episodes ago where she called Phillip and got his answering machine before her "date" was awesome. The last episode was one of the best in the series, imo. So much tension. It sucks for Phillip, but there's no way out for Martha now, she has to die. I just hope that it isn't him who has to do the deed.

          Now we wait...

With The Americans you never know. She'll either die or get caught. I think it's 60-40.

Well, we won't know what happens to Martha for at least another episode.
              Spoiler

So Martha gets a ride with a deadly virus courtesy of that Russian agent who "found" another pilot. What a way to go.

Very intense episode, not knowing who was going to get to Martha first.

John Boy hasn't had very much luck with his career since Stan showed up.

So, the "memo" detailed the virus, but nothing about Martha. Those going back to Russia haven't had much luck this series.

Another excellent episode last night. So intense... When Gaad plopped that Marriage Certificate on the evidence pile I almost felt bad for the guy. Watching poor Martha struggle throughout the episode and then get gut punched was good TV. I'm sure Elizabeth has wanted to do that for awhile.

Lastly, I've always thought that Martha actress Allison Wright had a familiar face, but I don't think I've ever watched anything else she has been in. I've been racking my brain thinking she must have a doppelganger or something. Last night I think I finally figured it out... Allison Wright reminds me of what a middle aged Massie Williams will look like.

Yeah I'm thinking somehow Martha becomes the carrier for the virus.

Elizabeth wanted to kill Martha, but didn't because of Philip. Going to be interesting what they do with that dynamic. She cares for him and wants him to truly love her, but she knows that she loves Russia and the mission more.

That was a spectacular episode last night. Step up from the last couple, imo.

I agree. The only one that was a little slow to me was the "in the room virus" epiosode.

This one had everything. The Martha sendoff, Alcoholic Lisa going down, Paige's Duty, John-Boy and Stan, and the time jump and reset. My favorite episode of the season.

Elizabeth really likes Young-hee. I see possible tragedy there.

Wonder who will be playing the boss that replaces John-Boy?

I have a feeling some people might not like the jump ahead/"vacation". I'm glad Gabriel realized they needed it.
