We'll we just finished watching. It's been a while since we watch IT.

For a made for TV movie, the production wasn't bad. Tim Curry was great. Brought back some old memories.

Can't wait his next weekend...

Sounds like it’s not just the scariest movie of the year, but it may even be a horror classic.

Probably a lot of fluff here; I saw some of the twitter reaction was from IGN writers and stuff like that, but still better than nothing.

Only a few more days, I'm feeling about this movie like I did with the first Conjuring movie. I'm like please be good, please be good. Don't need it to be the best movie just need it to be good.

These posters are nice,especially the first one... wouldn't mind owning them

Still in the theater. So dang good! Fear may have been a major theme of the movie, but I can't say it was ever that scary (I don't have a major fear of clowns though). That didn't matter though, because the fear still served its purpose so strongly. Surprisingly, it was a very FUNNY movie! Memorable characters, best use of kids since Super 8. Never saw the original or read the novel. I have several questions leaving it. I really liked this flick though.

Just adding a bit more to my impressions now that I'm home.

I like how this film took the content very seriously even though it didn't take itself too seriously. I also like how it did literally everything in the psychological realm right whereas a recent horror movie that I saw (The Bye Bye Man) did it all so wrong. This is a kid-centric story that cares just as much about us caring about them as it does trying to scare us. And admittedly, I feel the film tried to scare the kids more than the audience, and like I said that is completely okay. Put me in their shoes and I'll go along for the ride. Pennywise from the get-go was a range of adjectives: creepy, humorous, sinister, disturbing, untrustworthy, unsettling, charismatic... the list goes on. Bill Skarsgård did a phenomenal job.

It was a little long, but it did not overstay its welcome at all. Even though the pacing felt a bit off, I would have watched another half hour. The kids were just that engaging. I mean they were laugh-out-loud hilarious all the same. I almost wish I grew up in the eighties. Speaking of which, the time period for this film was the right amount of perfect. A lot of nods and references to the time period, with very specific dates no less. The stereotypes aren't overplayed to the amount of ridiculousness, but they did still feel like movie characters. I mean this was just such a movie in every which way, but I think that's what I liked about it. It didn't try to be real, dark and gritty. I made mention of Super 8, but even more so it felt like Stand By Me with a killer clown.

Anyway, I look forward to reading all of your impressions and discussing the film with some of you. Of the Stephen King film adaptations I have seen (1408, The Mist, Shawshank, Pet Sematary, Secret Window, The Shining, Stand By Me), this is definitely one of my favorites.

I just got back from seeing it, in the dolby premier theater no less, and I have to disagree on some parts.

First the good: It was a good movie. They skipped a decent amount of stuff from the book (unavoidable), but did okay at it introducing the kids as quickly as possible. Pennywise was definitely creepy, not very scary though. The movie as a whole only had about 2 jump scares, and I jump scare pretty easily.

Very psychological and fear based scares throughout the whole film, which captured the book very well.

The bad (IMO): I actually thought the kids WERENT that funny. One especially was very annoyingly vulgar, repeating the same toilet humor a lot, as if that was his only dialogue.

I also thought it was really hard to understand what Pennywise was saying at times due to his "clowny" voice.

I did like it, and I am sure I will buy it on Blu-Ray because the movie was gorgeous as well as the sound.

I've never read the book or seen the original mini-series so I'm going in without really knowing anything. Just the basics.
