I have watched it like 8x already lol. That slide projector scene is just, in my opinion, phenomenal looking. Wow."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

This is going to be in theaters? Because no chance in hell I'll be able to get my wife to go see this with me.Comment

The original movie scared the hell out of me as a kid. Still does in a sense. I feel compelled to see this however. That trailer was amazing.

My whole life I've been saying "everything floats" and so few people knew what I was referencing

I always thought to myself that the kids in both movies have to be freaked out working with Pennywise.

Stephen King's "It" (2017)
That's how I understood it to be, yes
I was told it would mirror the book as far as part 1 (adolescence) and part two (adulthood)

Exactly. This one, Part One, is about them as kids. Part Two, if it happens, will be about them coming back to Derry as adults.Comment

Re: Stephen King's "It" (2017)
When I first heard about this movie my honest to goodness first reaction was "Oh, great, another Stephen King Movie Adaptation Steaming Pile Of Crap."
In fairness to me, some of my most adored King novels/stories (Riding the Bullet, Hearts In Atlantis, Dreamcatcher, Room 1408, Big Driver) were all, to varying extents, butchered in one way or another. At the very least, just poor representations of their source material. Dreamcatcher broke my heart. One of my favorite books of all time and has stuck with me since the day I finished it back in 2001-2002. That movie was garbage.
This trailer has my hopes up. I feel like they are doing it right. I know it's just a trailer, but it is the first time in a long time I legitimately have my hopes up for a faithful, high quality King adaptation on the big screen.
There are certain things I am somewhat apprehensive of, as far as just being unsure it can be handled well (certain events in the second part, deadlights, just various things that must be hard to faithfully recreate), but there are themes that can be done well in the right hands, like the damage done by childhood trauma, the illusion of "small town innocence," stuff like that.
I think I need to re-read the book.
What are your favorite King-based films?
I always liked Dolores Claiborne. There was a minor horror aspect I remember from the book that doesn't show up in the film, but other than that I thought I remember the film doing a pretty decent job. Misery was always a favorite of mine as well."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Stephen King's "It" (2017)
I just worry about how they end this. I think the original just did not do a good job in it's conclusion of IT.
To your question Jare, my favorite is easily Storm of the Century. Also loved the book version of Desperation but not so much the movie version.Comment

Re: Stephen King's "It" (2017)
Wow I didn't know they made a movie of that. It's funny you say this because I was gonna say that Desperation/Regulators would be a cool combo to see on the big screen if they did it/them right."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
