For someone who grew up on Marvel Comics during the 70s, finally seeing their characters being done right on the big screen is a dream come true.

One character Marvel needs to do is Sub-Mariner. Namor was always one of my favorites...he's one of the few that can go toe-to-toe with the Hulk.

Unfortunately for that, Namor's rights are still with Universal. Also unfortunate that Hulk's rights are there as well, but unlike Hulk, they have full rights to Namor whereas they only have rights to Hulk's solo movies so Marvel can use him in other character's movies and teamups like Avengers.

Jeeeez... You know there will be a part 2 now. Problem is it won't be as good. Nothing is as good the second time around lol

Did Black Panther get knock down from number this weekend?

Wrinkle in Time came in at #2 with Black Panther remaining #1.

Not only that, Black Panther officially passed up The Dark Knight as the seventh-highest grossing movie ever and the highest grossing solo superhero movie in history at the domestic box office, passing up The Dark Knight's $534 million with $562 million. Next up for BP is seeing if it can run down Star Wars: The Last Jedi as the sixth highest grossing film of all time at $619.5 million and The Avengers as the fifth highest grossing and highest grossing superhero film of all time at $623.4 million. There are some analysts who think the film has the chance to climb high enough to pass Jurassic World's $652.3 million and Titantic's $659.4 million as the third highest grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office.

I don't know about you guys. But this movie was huge for me. As Haitian American... I can only remember a few black super heroes movies. I can see why some people could possible not like the plot of the movie. Yes, their are some holes. But what movies doesn't have. I was a huge comic book reader during my young days. And just seeing Black Panther on screen was really big. I had Meteor man and Blankman before that. Those were silly stories or more like parody of black super heroes. But this was a well thought out movie. With some serious characters. Was this The Dark Knight. Hell no.... There are people out there that actually wish Wakanka was a real place lol.

I hear you jeebs. I grew up in the South Bronx during the 70s, and I was a Marvel maniac for the same reasons you mentioned. It was so cool seeing superheroes and secondary characters who looked like me. Shoot, Marvel even had heroes based in Harlem, lol (Luke Cage, Falcon). They were always ahead of the game when it came to diversity.
