Re: Game of Thrones: Season 8 (Final season)

I was hoping Tyrion would have killed Dany when he walked up behind her after seeing is brother and sister dead.

When that didn't happen, I knew Jon would kill her but I was hoping he would kill himself afterwards. He killed her for duty, but killed himself for love.

It's hard not to focus on the negative when there's a damn water bottle next to Sam's leg during the council scene.

There were so many little things that made this season frustrating. We waited so long, yet it seemed this season was shot in a rush.

I guess expectations were too high for this final season

While I'm a little indifferent on the ending overall, I felt odd and weird watching the episode just by the acting and dialogue. It was just corny and rushed and as I watched I couldn't help but think the actors thought the way it was going down was **** and tried their best to act it up and make it meaningful.

It's not the worse - but still after 8 seasons of an otherwise often show I am left feeling like it was pretty bland and like so what...

I’m convinced they meant to add one last scene of Drogon and cut it in the end.

He was a complete fool to think he would ever EVER be given High Garden by anybody.
I was the complete fool for thinking I was still watching Game of Thrones.

Well let's be real, not a soul knew who Bran was in the other kingdoms so if Jon was basically a nobody then I can only imagine what Bran would be considered.

I know I am in a tiny minority, but I enjoyed the season. I will admit that I was late to the party as I binge watched the first 6 and a half seasons (during S7)....I might feel differently had I been in from the start with 8 years to analyze characters and storylines. And maybe it helped that after Ned Stark was beheaded in S1, and that anything was on the table, I learned to watch the show with zero expectations and just go along for the ride. It was a fun time. I'll miss it.

                Idk TMagic

Word had to get out that Jon was a good man at heart plus he was King of the North so I’m sure the other kingdoms know of him. Plus the Stark name had to carry weight and instant credibility.

But perhaps word got out that he didn’t want the power which is why he went out peacefully like Tmac in the playoffs lol.

But also the fact that he bugged out of his first meeting within a minute. To me it seems that Tyrion will actually be running the kingdom but since there is no way anybody would have appointed him Bran is the figure head? Maybe that was his master plan? All speculation on my part but I'd like to think that's how it will go down. I like the thought of Tyrion ruling but not ruling and trying to better the realm as him and Varys both wanted.

Which is why his line of "why do you think I came all this way?" is so jarring and out of place for his character.

And my other question. Why is Jon still alive? Grey Worm killed everyone under queen's orders, but shows restraint on the guy that kills her? It looks like Jon was dumb enough to admit that he did it.

I found this take pretty interesting.

It's a few minutes of reading, but worth it.

One thing I was thinking about today that I'm disappointed that they never used or had a scene for is Jon being lit on fire by someone or something and to his own and others surprise, he is unharmed.

Would've made for a cool little scene at some point. Disappointed that never came into play.

That hand must be his Stark hand... his other hand is the Targaryen one. I think that's how genes/DNA works, but don't quote me.
