LOL. The sad thing is that the Sony fanboys can't even admit that there is blatant Sony homerism coming from G4.

Or maybe the Xbox fans equate a lack of unconditional love for all things MS with "blatant Sony bias"?

Like when the guy was trying to tell them that the xbox wasn't running near full capacity or that most of the movies were pre-rendered, they just shrugged them off but complained about anything that microsoft or nintendo did.

Every single game Sony showed off was pre-rendered video. Of course it's going to look better than the MS games.

Like when the guy was trying to tell them that the xbox wasn't running near full capacity or that most of the movies were pre-rendered, they just shrugged them off but complained about anything that microsoft or nintendo did.

I saw the program this morning (thank you TiVo), and I got the impression that their skepticism was directed at the wisdom of bringing 30-40% completed games to E3 in the first place. They also felt that the MS presentation was concerned with way too many things that weren't directly game related.

The idea that they hate MS is absurd, all you have to do is go back and check their Halo 2 reviews (Morgan practically goes into vapors everytime the game is mentioned). If they seem unwowed w/the 360, blame the people whose job it was to wow them.

Every single game Sony showed off was pre-rendered video. Of course it's going to look better than the MS games.

I've seen a lot of speculation about that, but I've yet to see anything conclusive one way or the other. Even if we assume that's true, what does that have to do with MS's failure to wow the press yesterday?

This is taken from another gaming forum I visit and sums up my thoughts pretty well.

"What other successful multi-billion dollar consumer product has Microsoft launched that wasn't a hunk of software? Xbox (and 360) and uhh, there was, well... ummm... nada.

Now Sony has been serving the market and hyping similar products for decades. So of course they are slicker than goose **** through a tin horn. What I'm trying to say is it is fascinating how much impact they can get out of a spec sheet and a few hardware-independent demos. It's amazing, I stand in awe of their marketing capabilities."

I suppose I could say the same thing about the PS3`s cell chip. Why should I care about the PS3`s cell chip? Is it going to allow me to do everything the 360`s hardware can do? No... but it will aledgedly give me better graphics but thats only if Devz can tap into that power.




These electronic shows are for hard-core gamers. Can you honestly tell me that most gamers even know what anti-aliasing is or 512 megs is or what the hell is 60 million polygons per second?

People that go to these shows know what this garbage is, but I gurantee you that the average gamer (which is the largest market) doesn`t know jack sh$t about all that technical stuff.

So here we have 2 companies (sony and MS) telling us how great there hardware is. And I think both pieces of hardware were impressive, but the big question is... Who had the best software? I think Sony has won this part of the show so far but I do think both systems look very impressive.

The point is... MS is marketing to the hard-core gamer which is most likely going to be there target audience. There was no reason to bash the 360. Instead, I would rather listen to people talk about what the thing can do and then make a decision on whether or not to buy it.

I don`t need commentators to tell me what they`re going to buy or not buy.... because quite frankly.. I don`t give a rat`s a$$ what they buy, I just want 'ALL' the info on 360 and Ps3.

Hardcore gamers buy PC's and none of the mainstreet crap like Halo when we have better FPS on PC COUGH HALF-LIFE 2 COUGH! As of now my graphics card is already more superior then both systems (6800 Ultra) and by christmas next gen PC games will own both systems in terms of graphics... My key is going to get the most powerful system and according to this link http://ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614783p1.html the PS3 is certainly going to be better technically.

Actually by christmas the pc still won't have the capabilities of the 360 or the ps3. The pc's might catch up by late 2006 to early 2007. And the ps3 might have better numbers but the numbers don't mean anything since the ps3 isn't designed well enough for the developers to actually take advantage of that, which is why everyone is saying that the ps3 and 360 are basically equal. Oh yeah, we're getting half life 2 for the xbox so that's not really an advantage for the pc.

great point...just going to suck when we see more gameplay videos of PS3 and it finally clicks for people that pre-rendered videos do not equal gameplay videos, and games won't be quite that good...

I have been a big Xbox supporter since the beginning (Although I own a PS2 and had a gamecube as well).

I must say that the Sony Press conference was much better and focused more on games than chatting with my new internet friends online. Microsoft is trying to get the non-gamer into the XBox. I hope for their sake it works. For me, I am a gamer, I like playing games online, but I am not looking to make friends online.

On the flip side though, if the rumors are true, I do not think the PS3 is worth $200 more than the XBox 360. All the games on both systems will look great and play the same (hopefully the gameplay is great also).

A system can have all the power in the world, but if the developers don't use it, it won't matter. See Xbox 1!.

once again not all of Sony's stuff was pre-rendered... the fps game that was untitled was obvious gameplay because of the reticle(sp) and the sporadic movements of the character on screen.... So no, not all of Sony PS3 videos were pre-rendered.
