I seriously thought Sony was going to step it up and I liked them. I even felt that the little hype that Sony had with those signs near the E3 convention was the beginning a war that would keep me mesmerized by both companies. Only one company showed up to entertain.....with true honestly and customer interest in mind. Wasn't the foreign console either. Not racist but those guys over there are just geniuses. Almost similar to what I see in the playoffs right now. Suns = Sony while Spurs = Microsoft IMO. Suns still getting that praise but came up short to me. I don't see it. I'm still looking but I don't see it. I'm going to bash if I don't see it. Show Me The MONEY

I guess they had to make somethin up for E3. XBOX360 comes out this year, but Sony is still workin on their system for another year. *shrugs* Maybe they didn't have much to show.

Well that helps me understand alot lol. So who said those weren't actual graphics? I'd be OK if those were cut scenes you'd see playin' PS3 but if those are truly not PS3 graphics then. Boo. They still have fooled alot of people that don't read into this stuff, just watched it >.>

Hmmm P.S. I've been looking through the threads and 360 threads get unlimited praise, while PS3 threads end up like this. I want to save ALL of these topics so when PS3 comes out, let's see how fake Sony was. It just seems like yall know everything >.>

shawn doesn't seem upset. All he's saying is, SHOW ME! Show me some in-game footage. Microsoft obviously had the balls to show not even half-finished *** games, Sony should have grabbed their balls and did the same thing. Bottom line, sony accomplished what it set out to do. Question is, have you been around long enough to be able to see through the B.S.

LOL, E3 is as much of a corporate event as it a gamer event. We're all grown enough to realize this.

At the end of the day, Shawn (not to speak for you) will probably have both systems as will most 'hardcore' gamers. Smoke screens, mirrors, hype machines, etc. is just questioning people's intelligence really.

Superstar said it best. This premature back & forth arguing is simply Madden vs. ESPN Console version. Now it's Sony vs. MS. Come on.

As for me, I'm getting both systems and I'm trying not to watch too many videos as I know BOTH systems will ROCK. Hype or no hype, they're both powerful machines.

I'm not going to sit here and try to sway people's opinions on which one is better like jmood is obviously doing. People should spend their money however the hell they want to.

And that's my 2 cents err....or 2 $400 preorders.

Take a sip of this. Sony LIED and ya'll are still sticking up for them speaking of truth that we have yet to see. That's what "we" are trying to put on ya'll. The media has a hold of so many minds that they dictate what ya'll want to hear. The Sony camp came prepared to fool the masses with their little movies and things. Ironically, so many people in proper places backed them up (G4 & IGN to be a few). The mindset from me at least is that I'm not satisfied with the lack of .....ANYTHING that Sony has shown. They're all pieces of garbage that I'm still waiting to hear about. Honestly, I'm still waiting to see what their online is about. Do you know? DOES ANYONE KNOW?? Only Sony knows and they're not telling. Bet it's because they're still working on it of course. Hopefully they do bring their skill and proper mindset to the table. I'm just disappointed that so many fell for it. Not the first time either. America voted Bush in twice into.....that's a whole different discussion. Excuse my thoughts. Tripping a little.

First of all some of you guys swear you know everything.....You really just know as much as the next guy, The 360 is ready to go this year, so ofcourse Microsoft opened there full can of beans, and it was all about the 360 and we really know basicly everthing we are going to know about te 360 riht about now, and thats because it's coming out this year, some of you guys need to remember this. Sony may not have shown any real gameplay vids and or anything that great that made you say wow. I'm sure there some people out there who enjoyed what sony did at E3. I'm just saying the PS3 doesn't even come until 2Q of 2006, so they tend to have a lot of time from now until then to blow us away, plus If I'm correct the PS3 will be released after next years E3, making that wide open for Sony to steal the whole entire show at E3 next year by showing off the PS3 in it's intirety(gameplay vids, hardware and all), and make some people who weren't buying it change there minds, just think about that. I just think there really isn't enough out there right now to really judge the PS3 at this time, accept for the funky controller. Just food for thought guys, take it with a grain of salt.

I think the reason why this topic spurs so much debate is because this event was covered by the so called gaming experts, and they were WOWED by a few charts, trailers, and an empty box (the PS3 on display must have been empty or they would have at least plugged it in so that we may see the pretty blue lights). The gaming experts should know better. If E3 had been covered by CNN, we would fully understand how they could be floored by all things glossy and loud. But the "experts" were there. They went to E3 to get a look at the nextgen consoles. They got to have a hands on feel for one of them. They got to play a few games, feel out the wireless controller, and they got a look at the new interface of the Xbox360. In other words, they got to see, touch, and hear an actual nextgen system in action. For the PS3, they got promises. And on that, most of the gaming experts said that Sony was the hit of the show.

We have a lot of experienced gamers out in the land. A lot of them reside in these forums. I count myself as one of them. I can remember back in the early days of pc gaming, the Amiga computer was king in graphics. I didn't have one, but when I went to the game shop to pick up a game for my 286AT, the screenshots on the back of the box were ALWAYS incredible pics of the Amiga version of the game. Did they make mention of that fact on the box? No! A lot of us were duped. We got home only to see the same boring 16 color game we'd become accustomed to. Since those days I decided that I needed to be educated just a "little" bit on the games I play. And now, I live by one motto. As someone exclaimed earlier in this thread... SHOW ME! Show me what you got.

Edit: I too will buy both machines. I like Sony and M$ because they are contributing to my gaming habit. But sometimes, you gotta tell it like it is.

Obviously, Sony "Outclassed" Microsoft and in terms of selling their hype. There is no way Sony could have shown "in game" footage of anything. The PS3 is about a year off. If they could show "in game" footage that looked like that then they would release it next month and not in a year. The fact that they didn't have much to show that is relevant isn't Sony's fault. I just wish that they would have been a little more direct in what it was that they were actually showing.

A good chunck of what Microsoft showed had to be prerendered as well. What wasn't, quite frankly, looked like it could have been from this generation. Again, that isn't anything less than we should have expected. We can be sure that the end product will look much better than this gen but what it turns out to be exactly on both systems remains to be seen.

We know that the PS3 has the advantage of Blu-Ray DVD to hold more data on a DVD. I think that this could be an advantage is selling this system for movie watching and could turn into an actual game advantage by the end of the generation. We know it has 7 controllers to the XBOX's 4. The best way to actually use 7 controllers remains to be seen. (I can just see to guy who gets stuck being the offensive lineman complaining) And it will have two HDTV video outs which I think that most people won't be able to use but we will see what Sony has in mind for it.

I am going to get an XBOX 360 on launch because I know it will blow everything else away for at least a few months. I am looking forward to Oblivion and Halo 3 early in the next gen. While if I wait for a PS3 I'll still be stuck in the relative dark ages for a while. I'll still be hoping at that point that when the PS3 does come out that it is as impressive as we could imagine. I have not decided for sure that I'll get a PS3 but if Sony has better hardware and gets developers to use it I'll definately be getting one eventually.

Don't even bring politics into this discussion. Bush is the right man for the job and America agrees with me. You could argue with me but then the thread would become political and that usually gets a closed thread so don't. Why must you give a **** what I think about Sony, all everyone does is pile on, why don't you give Sony time because I know you damn well will give Microsoft all the time it needs to get its **** straight. I've already got my 360 lined up for opening night but you don't see me in threads bashing PS3 because its the cool thing to do, no I would rather give Sony the benefit of the doubt and yes I was around for the PS2 launch but I'm still giving Sony the benefit of the doubt because unlike most here I would rather see things in a positive light. These XBOX elitest on these forums need to gain some perspective and not hijak every damn thread making it about how bad PS3 will be.

That's exactly why people say you're a pawn. If you want to give the benefit of the doubt to the company that lied about the exact same thing then you shouldn't be suprised if people say anything about you being a pawn.

It's really simple to understand.

Sony had little to show, we know that. They're still a year, or more, away from launch and most developers just started receiving alpha dev kits back in March(some in January), so you can't expect too much in-game footage. The fact that there were no playable demos on the floor should be another sign of little progress so far, but again, that's ok.

Sony deciding to show pre-rendered videos and stating to us that, "this is what we hope to accomplish with the final product" would have been acceptable to many. The problem starts when they have VP's and Rep's stating that ALL the stuff shown was "in-game". Now you've gone from trying to market what you think can be done, to try and con people into believing this is what we've already done.

Big difference.
