At the end of the day, Shawn (not to speak for you) will probably have both systems as will most 'hardcore' gamers. Smoke screens, mirrors, hype machines, etc. is just questioning people's intelligence really.

Superstar said it best. This premature back & forth arguing is simply Madden vs. ESPN Console version. Now it's Sony vs. MS. Come on.

As for me, I'm getting both systems and I'm trying not to watch too many videos as I know BOTH systems will ROCK. Hype or no hype, they're both powerful machines.

I'm not going to sit here and try to sway people's opinions on which one is better like jmood is obviously doing. People should spend their money however the hell they want to.

    And that's my 2 cents err....or 2 $400 preorders.
I'll undoubtedly own and enjoy both consoles. I'm no fanboy. I don't get paid by either Microsoft or Sony, so I don't really care who does what to whom.
But I've been around long enough in the corporate and sports worlds to know when I'm being PR'ed to death. I deal with it every day.

I didn't appreciate the fact that Sony felt the need to do that at E3.
They're the undisputed industry leader, and I think they will be in the next generation, too.
It simply seemed unbecoming of a company in their position to simply stoop to smoke and mirrors when they've proven themselves capable of so much more.

      Were you there?
How much experience have you had first-hand covering this industry?
How many high-level Sony and Microsoft decision-makers do you have daily contact with?

I'm really not trying to showboat here - but don't mistake me for some random gamer surfing the 'net, please.

I know what I'm talking about - from experience.

I thought E3 overall was a yawn. Sony had a really nice demonstation on the PS3, and that's about it. That MTV special on the 360 killed all my excitement for it. I'm just wating for more previews to come along for both systems.
