If its anything like Morrowind, you may get a bounty on your head and whenever you step foot in any town, the guards will come immediately after you.

After reading IGNs hands on, this was my favorite part.

Oblivion promises to be a titanic single-player only experience for those willing to put in the time. Just running through the main questline alone will take around 20 to 25 hours. Checking out all the superfluous content such as cavernous dungeons, mountainside cottages and completing the various Guild and NPC quests across Cyrodiil will take well over 200 hours, according to Bethesda.

Thats the ish I'm talking about. Why dont more companies attempt to make single player experiences like this.

Well, it is hard to hit anyone with anything right away when you first start. You have to get your skill with the weapon up by hitting things. You will see your sword/dagger/axe hitting people, but they may not take any damage till your tenth swing. As your skill gets higher, you hit with more frequency. In third person mode it is especially difficult to hit someone when you have low skill because your character is kind of blocking the screen from you and you may end up missing even more because you weren't exactly lined up.

It sounds like we won't have this problem anymore, as the combat system has been reported to have been revamped. Combat was always my biggest complaint with Morrowind.

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion...

Dan from the IGN PC channel says Oblivion has some graphical issues. He did not mention this in his hands-on preview, but on the PC boards. Charles mentioned these issues in the 360 preview though.

This applies to both the PC and 360.

Hey guys, I just wanted to comment really quick. Charles and I are going to get into this a little more later in the week when he's back from the Midway event in LA as well.

There was pop in. Most notably when new areas were being loaded in. It didn't really bother me which is why I didn't harp on it much. The textures in the distance were definitely crappy and blobby in the hills in the distance, which is especially noticeable when you leave the first dungeon. Upon load, they'll become more detailed and pop in at that point. I guess I stopped seeing it when I entered into forested areas where you can't see very far around you, which was most of the game after the initial bit around the imperial castle. Was it ugly? Yes. Did it ruin my experience? No. Did I only play the game for 4-5 hours? Yes. So it's hard to say whether that will end up bothering me more when the game is finally released and I can run around to my heart's content.

The thing to remember is that I really want to play the game more. I had fun with it. It's not perfect graphically (though I do think most things look very good) but in my short time it didn't bother me enough to make a bad impression. We'll obviously have a full review with actual impressions when we get builds. Bethesda has already told me that they aren't sending ANY builds out to anybody before they have final boxed copy, so we're not sure when that will be, though I was told very soon. You can count on the fact that we'll also have multiple impressions in the reviews as there are a ton of people in the office waiting to play this game so you'll get a much wider spread of opinion about the visuals at that point.
                      Also Gamepro preview...

Not suprising that the game has some issues, i'm sure there is more, but I still can't wait.
