had perhaps the biggest scare of my adult life while playing this game. And it wasn't something that was designed into Alan Wake. There were no triggers. Instead it was something completely organic, the result of my late night play session, the darkened underground room where my console is, the constant little scares that kept picking away at my sense of calm and then one single moment that literally made me drop my controller. That's what we should expect from all games of this nature. It doesn't surprise me that Remedy Entertainment was the studios to nail it.
I am open to the potential of the year's games, but I still can't imagine that Alan Wake will be topped in 2010. It tells a story that is engaging, and yes, emotional. It makes you care, it delivers scares. But most importantly it redefines interactive storytelling. More aptly put, Alan Wake finally delivers on a phrase so overused that it has become a joke.

May 18th will be an expensive day between this and RDR. I don't know which I'm more excited about, anymore, either.

I think, in the long run I'm more excited about RDR....but I need to play this game a lot more than I need to play RDR. If that makes sense.

Seriously I think i'm like Longhorn here. I'm more looking forward to RDR but this game has me VERY interested.

I don't think I've wanted to play another game as badly as I do RDR, but Alan Wake is a game I'll definitely be checking out. Sounds really cool.

F man, yeah...I think this is my plan. RDR will last a while, and UFC I have to own.

Alan Wake sounds great, but I doubt I'd replay it enough to make it worth GFing RDR instead. Need to finish GOW or Splinter Cell so I can put this on my list.

I have graduation on May 15. I'm hoping graduation money comes through in a big way for me and I can find a copy of the collector's edition without having to pre-order.

This is another stacked month........what are these publishers/developers thinking. Then it looks like June - August are going to be a bit on the slower side.

I simply rented a book from Chegg this semester. Almost lost it and got stuck with another $80 fee.

I watched the Giant Bomb First Look video. this game looks pretty interesting and unique in its gameplay. The graphics are indeed really good especially when you're near light.

LOL, I love how out of 20 reviews, it gets a 7 and a 8.5 and now some don't think it's a purchase anymore. Hilarious.

You can go back and find reviews for just about any game released, and if you are looking hard enough, find 1-2 "bad" reveiws (if a 7 and 8.5 is considered bad now).

But there are people who focus entirely on reviews for purchases. I would rather try stuff out for myself as there were a few games that got mediocre reviews that I really enjoyed.
