I think I'm doing the same thing. I was going to buy RDR and get Alan Wake later on, but now I'm pretty sure I'll buy Alan Wake on day one. The inclusion of free DLC when you buy the game is also leaning more towards buying it rather than renting it.

Re: Alan Wake (360)
That happened to me too. I keep going back and forth on whether I want to buy it but I come in this thread and feel like I need it on day 1.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
The anticipation for this game is deep, and I really like how they are doing the prequel stuff, but it doesn't have to be a day one purchase for me. Red Dead seems to be a game that will be enjoyable on and offline, making it a priority to enjoy it with friends.
Alan Wake (for me) will be something I play through in time, not really making it an immediate priority.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
Man, I cant believe we are so close to the release of this game. Its been a long 4 year wait for me.
Regarding this initial DLC, does anyone know specifics? Does it extend the story after the end of the game, or what does it do exactly?Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
Extends story:
"When you get Alan Wake in your hands, you can think of this as season one," Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told Edge magazine. "We'll have a satisfactory and conclusive ending, but we'll leave some doors open: we've planned for a bigger story arc.
"And we've thought of DLC, which will be more of a bridge between season one and season two."
"You can think of the DLC as a Christmas special, something that will give you a different perspective on the stuff you've played in season one."Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
I'm like Dookie. After I get done with a SP game there really isn't much to hold me to it.
Especially if we have to wait for 3 or so months for the DLC.
Still deciding on this. With RDR the same day I really doubt this would get much playtime.Comment
