Re: Alan Wake (360)
Looks like we will be seeing Alan Wake at GDC next month.
From this interview with Robbie Bach
SG: One thing you talked about are the games- so far I think the 2008 year seems to be lacking. Especially when put up against the PS3 or Wii.
RB: Well were saving a lot of stuff for GDC, which is where we plan on showing off some big titles such as Halo Wars and Alan Wake.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
The game is still coming, folks.
Shane Kim Interview
So finally, Alan Wake. Does it exist?
Oh, absolutely.
Really? Because it's sort of like your Duke Nukem Forever.
[Laughs] Oh, it's not like that yet.
[Laughs] Yet. It needs another five years before...
It's a long ways from that. Again, Alan Wake is one of those titles where, at the end of the day, I think what we'll end up with is that it will deliver on the promise of when it was unveiled. But it is an ambitious, different kind of game. It's exactly like the conversation we just had about Too Human. We've got to be careful about how we unveil that, right, so that we build on the excitement that people have and we don't do any damage there. The good news is that it remains one of our most anticipated titles. Everybody's asked me about it, which is awesome. Remedy's a great partner for us. I think we're going to have a huge hit on our hands. But like everything else, we'll release it when it's ready. We'll give people more visibility into it when it really is ready.
That's the thing. You don't get more than one or two chances doing stuff like this. If you make mistakes, it's really hard to recover.
It took Remedy 4 years to create the engine and original Max Payne. It's not surprising that a game that is much bigger in scope would take longer.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
People are really annoying with proclaiming games as "the next Duke Nukem" just because they haven't come out when they want it to. It was announced in 2006, we are two months into 2008, calm down.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

already been over three years since shortly after this announcement there were screens etc.. Games like this i just intentionally forget about so that when they resurface it's good news, and if they don't, I mostly forgot about it anyway.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Alan Wake (360)
Don't get excited just yet about Alan Wake showing at TGS. Markus Maki developer at Remedy posted this yesterday.
The Microsoft Vista promotion referring to TGS took place in 2007, and is old news - we've had the winner over for taking the pictures already.
Sorry for the confusion and possible disappointment, but this was not an annoucement that Wake would be shown at TGS 2008. Remedy's team is just getting back from a bit of holiday and we haven't had time to chat with Microsoft on upcoming shows/showings yet.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
