 Re: Alan Wake (360)

On Major Nelson's podcast, they've always said as long as you got it legally (even if a store sold it early) you're good. It's the modded Xboxes w/the torrent games that they crack down on.Comment

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

Got the game. kind of a disappointment. I'm on episode 3, so I've put a little bit of time into it. The game is pretty repetitive. I'll just leave it at that so I don't create any spoilers. The graphics are ok. I just expected more from a game that has been in production for so long.Comment

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

I'm staying out of this thread from here on out to avoid being spoiled. Been waiting for this game for years, and to be spoiled before release would tick me off.

Congrats to the guys who got it early, I'd be tempted to get it, but if I can't get the LE, I don't want it.Comment

From reading other sites this is kinda what I gathered. Also with no MP I just don't see it being worth the purchase. Hope it get's better as you get deeper into the game. As MJ used to sing "I'll be there, just call my phone, and I'll be there" Ok, I changed a couple of the words to my liking. I can't wait to get your thoughts on this game. The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

"I think it'll depend a lot on the audience, but certainly we want to -- if we're successful -- we want to do a large 'Season 2,' if you will, at some point," he said in an interview with Joystiq. "Right now, I'm not allowed to say what we're doing exactly this year. But we're going to have more than one episode come out this year."Comment

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

Ok. For those that want impressions here are some spoiler free ones. If you don't, just skip this post.

After finishing the first episode of the game:

The game does a really good job of keeping you involved in the story. Maybe it's just me and I haven't played a "psychological thriller" in a long time, but for some reason when walking through the woods or darkness I feel a bit scared. If scared is not the word maybe the feeling is "on edge". When you're in a high pressure situation you feel the heat/fear. It's definitely a thriller that I can't wait to play with the lights off. (Played this episode in the afternoon, so not dark yet).

As for graphics, nothing like jaw dropping but definitely good. You can tell they had time to work on them, because they aren't bland/washed out like some other titles I've seen. The darkness is dark but not so overpowering you can't tell where to go/what to look at.

Sound is a big part of the game too. Let's face it a game can be a psychological thriller, but if it doesn't convince you with the sound you're not gonna believe. Those who have a full surround sound will definitely be feeling the creep factor during the game. From the ambient woods to the sound of Bright Falls town, everything sounds great to me. Voice acting isn't bad at all, and doesn't disappoint me so far in this game.

Well those are my impressions so far. Probably won't post too many more as I don't want to risk ruining the game for those who are anxiously awaiting.

If you have any non-story specific questions you'd like answered you can post 'em and I'll try to get to them asap. If you don't want to post them then feel free to PM me.

I am a little let down too true it is repetitive, the graphics are a mix looks good at certains times and at others its just ok. But this game is really about the story and thats what this game really has going for it.Got the game. kind of a disappointment. I'm on episode 3, so I've put a little bit of time into it.
