 Re: Alan Wake (360)

One thing I noticed is all the games listed have some sort of online multiplayer component, and Alan Wake doesn't. Hoping that's the only reason for the game's poor showing on this list, as I think the game is fantastic. And it easily stands out as one of the best games released in a year when there's been a lot of great releases. But I agree MS may have failed big time not moving the game's release date away from RDR. It's unfortunate too because I'm finding this game so much better than games like Resident Evil 5 or other thrillers. It deserves great sales (and a sequel)Bravo Microsoft, your non-existent marketing and inability to realize that you needed to reposition this game away from RDR seems to have really hurt sales out the gate. Not a good sign for sales when a game can't even manage to crack the top 20 in the first week of release.

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

FFXIII, Mass Effect 2, and Assassin's Creed II to name a few managed to crack the top 10 in their first week of release. They all sold 490k+ in NA the first month. Dante's Inferno, Darksiders, and Bayonetta didn't crack the top 20, and all sold less than 230K in their first month. May has been very competitive, so using the Live activity may not necessarily be a good indication of how Alan Wake has sold. It also seems to be fairing better in Europe, and whether it's months or a year from now, I'm hoping it's a success for Remedy's sake. They have a lot riding on this game, and have said prior to release that its reception will dictate not just a sequel, but them continuing to make games in the future. It's just a shame that their publisher currently hasn't given the game the marketing push it deserves.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Gentlemen - It didn't sell that bad as you guys make it seem. 287k over 2 weeks is a respectable amount of units sold.

Same. I don't know how much I am into the combat system, but I like the story enough to play through it. I am going to try to do an episode a night. How do most of them take to complete?Comment

Usually around an hour and a half. I think 3 is the longest episode and that one is around 2 hours.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

OK cool thanks for responding. I went ahead and did episode 2 just now and should be able to get in almost an episode a night then send it back to gamefly for backbreaker.

Small Spoiler maybe? The driving controls/camera kind of sucked but besides that I am impressed.... still a little jittery from the game as I type this.Comment

I think I seen this on G4 last night and they said it's not DLC related. So it's gonna be interesting to see what this is. I guess we'll see more next week at E3.<object height="385" width="640">

 Re: Alan Wake (360)

After the first episode I loved the game. After the second I liked the game. Now I’m midway through Episode three and I have to admit that the game is getting stale. The atmosphere, graphics, and story are great, and I enjoy those three elements immensely, but the repetitive combat/enemies have gotten old, quickly.

I’m not a big fan of how the game constantly warns you of impending danger (enemies) by changing the music and/or kicking up the wind. Walk through the woods, music changes, fight bad guys, walk through more woods, music changes…

I’ll definitely see the game to the end because there is a lot to like, but I’m disappointed.Comment
