I would've preferred to watch this game as a movie. I got tired of running around the woods and never finished it.Comment

Alan Wake 2 shows up on CV
LinkedIn strikes again - an artist has name-dropped Alan Wake 2 on her online CV.
The sequel has been heavily rumoured but never confirmed. The "previs artist" (pre-visualisation) claims she worked on in-game Alan Wake 2 cinematics for Halon Entertainment in April 2011.
Halon Entertainment created the Deliver Hope advert for Halo: Reach. Could Halon's Alan Wake 2 project (if real) be a CGI taster for a major upcoming game event like, say, E3 next month?Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Alan Wake Kinect?
New Alan Wake confirmed, but it's not 'Alan Wake 2'
Remedy has confirmed that it's working on the next Alan Wake game -- but the "next" game is not the "Alan Wake 2" that was outed from an artist's resume. Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise development for the Finnish developer, confirmed to Joystiq that a slice of the team is crafting "this next Wake installment," which is neither sequel nor downloadable content.
"Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that, yes, more Wake is coming!" he said. "But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC." The full explanation, "when we'll actually SHOW YOU," is being saved for the official announcement later.
If it's not a sequel, then what is it? (What is it with you and confounding nebulousness, Alan?) "It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board." Could it be an updated version of the original scary-forest sim, or an episodic continuation?
Remedy is not announcing platforms or release dates yet, but told us that "Fall 2011 is probably a good guess." Also a good guess? Nowhere near a Rockstar game.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Alan Wake Sequel Confirmed For Xbox Live

We've got a tiny tidbit of news about the next Alan Wake game for you Wake-maniacs out there. The haunted titular protagonist will return in a new game, which is, according to Major Nelson, a "standalone experience and released on Xbox LIVE." WE
Like all news these days, the Wake-word comes by way of twitter. The major tweeted:
We can confirm that this new “Alan Wake” game will be a fully standalone experience and released on Xbox LIVE.
As a huge fan of Alan Wake, I'm happy he's coming back, but I wonder how Wake will translate to the downloadable world. Part of the joy of Alan Wake was in its huge scope... so I'm hoping for a lengthy, episodic adventure doled out over six months or so.

Re: Alan Wake (360)
I was looking forward to a sequel as I really enjoyed many of the story telling elements of Alan Wake but I don't know how I feel about a Xbox Live game. It just makes you wonder why they aren't doing a normal release. You almost go into it feeling like there must be something wrong or it isn't creative enough to be a stand alone project.Comment

First Look At The Next Alan Wake
Developer Remedy is promising a fully standalone experience for Microsoft's digital platform. Do you like the flannel look? You can expect more details to be revealed about the new Alan Wake on December 10 at the Video Game Awards show on Spike TV, MTV2 and Spike.com at 8:00 p.m. EST

Dev comments:
It's structured like a full release complete with a pretty damn impressive storyline that expands the originals in some interesting ways. There's nothing I can really say to that without talking about the game in detail, which I can't do, so all I can say is that if your only standard for a quality is a full-priced retail game, I'm sorry to hear that, but as far as the "value for money" argument goes, I think I can say without any hyperbole that we've definitely got you covered on that front. Of course it's still up to you whether you like it, but maybe you'd like to, y'know, see something about the game before you pronounce it horrible? =)I don't get to post here very often, but I can safely say that you will be blown away by the proportion of things pretty soon.
