This isn't directly PS3 related, but I thought it was interesting how many people outside of OS prefer the PS3 over pretty much everything else. Even when the the 360 is available and the PS3 isn't. That personally didn't surprise me however. I think it shows how much faith gamers have in Sony this time around. I'm expecting big things. Anyway, it's just an ign poll about gaming consoles. Take it for what you will.

It's a poll on the main page. Done by readers, not IGN. And the poll is what system are you buying next. Not which is better. So if you own a 360, obviously you aren't buying one. And I think we've all been to IGN's forums before.

oh, I guess people with a 360 already must of voted for ps3 or revolution since that will be their next purchase.

p.s. I voted for Revolution since that will probably be my next purchase.

Not likely. There aren't a lot of 360's out there to purchase, meaning many people do not have one. Now whatever they're reasons, whether they can't find one at the store or they are simply waiting to see what the rest of the next-gen systems have to offer, I'd bet most of the voters from that poll aren't 360 owners.

close to 1 million 360's sold in the U.S. so I would say there are many votes from 360 owners. 2 in this thread I know of.

Why is it when one moderator says something to someone, i.e. "keep it on topic"........another moderator, or two, has to "chime in" with his two cents??? Isn't that a form of flaming?

Let APOC speak his mind, at least he is passionate about the topic and it makes for funny and interesting reading.

If you let his opinion get to you, especially behind a computer, you got problems.

I'm gonna take his side on this. To me, it just seems like the PS3 is the hotter console outside this forum. I dont do much browsing anywhere else but from the casuals I know, they are waiting for the PS3 despite not knowing a single shred of info about it. And like he said, there are alof of ppl who currently dont have one because of the shortage. If 360s were readily availible on the market than I would of taken the poll with a grain of salt because there would be many 360 owners whos next system will likely be a PS3 so the poll would be kinda misleading. Although the numbers may be skewed because of 360s owners voting as well, the 45-17 percent diffrence speaks in volumes.

IMO, MS fudged up the launch with a lack of games and poor availibility of the consoles.

I can't argue your point at all. There is no doubt in anyone's mind who's going to win this console war. I've never debated that. I think even MS knows that Sony's monster system will out sell their's. At this point, it's a battle to see how much can MS cut into the PS3.

The bigger question for Sony is will they be able to sell 50 million PS3's like they did PS2's? If they don't and there are more than 14 million 360's sold, then the time's are changing.
