Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I just deleted all 55% of my download. Starting it over now, and calling it a night.
I really liked the trailer, and the song choice. Got me even more pumped, and then they came back on and said the demo was up, it got me even more excited. Looks like I'll have something to look forward to tomorrow.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I was so in to the game I forgot it was a demo, when it ended I was like WTF. This has to be one of the most atmospheric games I've played, the surround sound is awesome very immersive and kinda scary. Seems like there will be a variety of gameplay elements, hacking the robots is cool. I also like the fact you can adjust the screen darkness as many of my 360 games are too dark and this is a dark game to begin with. Based off the demo this is a must buy for me. The only thing that bothered me was the way the creatures attacked you, it seems they all attack the same way, and some of the graphic texture were a little rough, but the overall game seems to be great.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I think this demo proves that Irrational Games has no equal, when it comes to atmosphere and sound design. The game just oozes atmosphere and the sound design is...my goodness. One of two audio logs in the demo is creepy. I also adore the art direction. The combat is great. Switching between the plasmids and weapons is very intuitive. The feel of using both is very satisfying too. I played the demo multiple times, so I could play that last part with the Splicers ambushing you. The Leadhead Splicers are crazy. The first time I pretty much fought my way through using my weapons and plasmids. The second time I went straight to that bathroom and hacked that turret, and it pretty much mowed everything down. From the demo, it seems like BioShock is going to be a little bit more streamlined than System Shock 2.
I can't wait to delve deeper into the world of Rapture.

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
The game looked amazing. When you first start up in the water, and the water is on the screen was really cool looking.
For the first 5-10 min i was just sitting here with my jaw to the ground. I was amazed at how good it looked and how smooth it played.
Once again 2k comes through.
My motto, if you see a game with 2k/rockstar on it and it looks interesting. just buy it. You wont be dissapointed.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
What I like about this game is the character build of Mr. Ryan (is it Andrew Ryan?). Anyway, the voicework for this guy is excellent. You really get this idea of a twisted man who was upset with government and religion, so while his ambition to get away from it was healthy, his way in doing so was extreme and bizarre. There are engraved quotes and other hints of information that set the philosophy of this man and his rebellion to his perceived surrounding world.
I don't think to go deep into impressions, where you break down the storyline is a good idea, simply because it will spoil the demo for many.
Just some general things:
You are guided by a man from a transistor radio that you pick up along the way. You will start with no weapons and will pick up weapons along the way. your RB button toggles through weapons and your RT button uses them. You will also pick up plasmids along the way. The same system for weapons is used for plasmids, except you use the LB button to toggle through them and LT button to use them. Clicking down on the left thumbstick crouches down and then again to go upright. The Y button jumps and the B button is used to give yourself health. The A button is your general "use" button which allows you to search dead splicers, garbage cans and anything else that has use.
This is definately a surround sound, turn off all your lights and play in the dark kinda game. You'll immediately become immersed in the atmosphere, where they've done an excellent job of giving you the impression that the world you are in is about to implode because of water pressure from the outside.
Again, I can't say enough about the voice acting. I think it's top notch. The graphics are very well done, but the characters do tend to have that blocky shape to them (except the Big Daddy, those look impressive.) When you approach a wall or object, it does become a bit jaggy and loses its resolution, but the overall graphical presentation of the game is excellent, capturing the 1950's, early 60's look.
It's my opinion that the game and storyline compliment eachother. You have this really interesting story with excellent sound and graphics that come alongside it. They're just package really well.
Great demo.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I tried it out for about 2 minutes this morning before I had to go to work and was floored. When you pop up out of the water and look around...that was one of those holy **** moments. Everything looked amazing. Can't wait to actually spend some quality time with it tonight.PS4: aBayBates
