This game totally blew away my expectations, its been awhile since I played a FPS with an intriguing story."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for) -

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
Nobody Wanted BioShock
BioShock’s senior designer has strong words for a play-it-safe industry that at one point dubbed BioShock as “just another [expletive] PC FPS that's going to sell 250,000 units."Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
Ive been downloading for about 3 hours and its only at around 17%. I guess all the great reviews of it are making non-believers give it a try. How long did it take everyone else?Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
They'll live to regret that. Bioshock will probably sell over a million after word gets out how great it really is.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I dl'd it earlier today, it took me about 45 minutes. Anyway, I didn't play all the way through, I might give it another run later, but it didn't seem like my type of game. I'll probably pass on it. Too many good games coming out this fall.[NYK|DAL|VT]

My download got done at amost 2am while i was halfways asleep. I said, the hell with it, i am going to try it out. I had no clue it was a horror game. I thought it was just a FPS like a Halo or something. Boy was i wrong. I jumped a few times. Especially the first time when the long chair thing comes rolling down the stairs.
Also, hearing that mother talking to the crib was freaky as hell.Comment

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
A friend just gave me his copy of System Shock 2. I installed the hi res updates. What's so creepy about it and how did it mess with you, just curious?

Re: Bioshock (PC/360)
I guess the main difference is the difficulty. Thirty minutes into System Shock 2 you can't shoot fire and lighting from one hand and spew bullets from the other. You would likely be out of bullets and running from zombie-like creatures. The games are similar, but SS2 leans more toward survival-horror while Bioshock leans more toward shooter-horror.
Also, the zombies in SS2 were way more creepy in the way that they talked. Some of the things the bad guys in Bioshock say are kind of amusing.
Edit:
If I remember correctly...Even if you had bullets in SS2, you may miss your target if your stats sucked in that area which only added to the tension.Last edited by Defel; 08-13-2007, 09:53 PM.Comment
