Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Don't worry, it'll happen.Originally posted by ScottdI just hope we don't have to keep sending this system back!
I expect about the same # of complaints/issues with the PS3 as the 360. The more powerful these machines get, the more issues we're going to see.Comment

I second that! I wanted a PS3 mostly for MLB the show, but the price is not that much of a issue with me. But I just can't see paying that much for a system! But I'll probably change my mind when I see the Show, maybe it will suck like MLB for the 360 does lol. Then I can use the money for some other crap! lolOriginally posted by joebooDon't worry, it'll happen.

MLB The show is very close to being a "perfect" game.
On the field, the game is second to none, and that includes MVP. Off the field and roster management, it has quite a few bugs to work out.
Back to the PS3. The PS3 will have defectives at launch. Its a given, happens with every new console launch.
Now as a Sony fan I am willing to admit that there will probably be more problems with the PS3 than there was with the 360. The reason, because of the PS2 history. They used cheap parts when they first released the console. This time around the cpu processors that they were originally using had a defective rate of 33% and I expect that a few of those slid thru the cracks.Last edited by countryboy; 06-08-2006, 07:39 PM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
I agree with your comments and if any system is broken it's the 360 as IGN has stated they have went through 9 systems 5 by one guy which is just ridiculous that's why I have steered clear of the 360. If these companies are so sure of their products they should at least give the consumer a 1 year warranty. We shouldn't have to worry if it will breakdown as soon as we get it, the positive with sony at least is they took an extra year to work on the PS3 where as Microsoft rushed their's out the door plus their games were rushed as well especially the sports titles. Let's hope both companies get their act together and just make a system that works that's all we ask.Originally posted by SpongedaddyThat story makes as much sense as the first story. The fact that they wont name sources is strange since the programmers are defending the system. The whole it's broke/it's not hoopla is a bunch of baloney. If the PS3 was really broken there would be quite a few developers who would go on record to talk about it. Several of the studio big wigs are not shy about voicing their opinions. You have a 1080p television? Really? What model is it? Are you sure it isn't one of those tv that upconverts to 1080p or one that has the chipset to do 1080p but displays it still at 720p?Originally posted by backbreakerHere's what I don't understand, from its debut last year KK stated that this was going to be expensive and even made a snide remark about working overtime to get one. So I expected a big price tag and again I'm willing to bite the bullet. I have a 1080p HDTV and I can't wait to take advantage of Blu Ray movies. I look at it like this, if it fails and it might, I can still watch those movies in HiDef and if HD-DVD prevails by then they will be cheap and I can purchase a standalone.Comment

What's the definition of it being a 1080P tv then? If the Sony SXRD can upconvert signals and play PS3 games in 1080P doesn't that make it a 1080P tv or does it have to accept inputs at 1080P in order to be a "true" 1080P tv?Originally posted by ExtremeGamerThat's not a 1080p TV, sorry to burst your bubble. I think the SXRD is a true 1080p TV. The TV that I posted a review for is "1080P", but doesn't accept a true 1080p signal, it gets downconverted. Confusing, yes.Originally posted by ODoggWhat's the definition of it being a 1080P tv then? And the industry will make sure everyone is thoroughly confused. Just make sure that you know exactly what you are buying and not thinking it's something that you thought it was.
backbreaker, that is a nice TV though.Comment

The BR players are delayed again. This whole BR thing gets more interesting by the second. If, and I am only saying if, the BR players can't make it otu of the gate until the holidays will that change the PS3 release date. I know it has been wondered before, but did Sony put too many eggs into the blue basket? I wonder if it would be possible, or even if they would do it, to release a non BR PS3 at a lower price?DON'T PANICComment
