The reason I brought up the Wii is just to make a point. Why would I play a game system like the Wii when it is targeted at non gamers and kiddies, basically dumbed down. Plus the games that will be out in North America is alot different compared to Japan especially sports titles. It's like comparing a vcr to a dvd player which one would you rather have?

Agian WHAT? The Wii is targeted at non gamers? I would say the opposite and say Nintendo is the only one targeting gamers. MS and Sony are trying to go with gamer/media heads more than just gamers, and I think they've as much admitted that.
You are way off on the dumbed down statement also. Graphics don't make the game, gameplay does. Say what you want about Nintendo but they have always have great games IMO.

I agree I will take a new Metroid, Zelda, and Mario for the $400 rather then a PS3 and MGS4 and MLB The Show for over $700.

But then again who am I kidding I will have all three systems and DS because I am like that.

Ditto..I'll eventually have them all also.

September 25, 2006 - At his Tokyo Game Show keynote speech last week, Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi announced the 20GB model of the PlayStation 3 would be receiving a price cut before it even launches this November. Originally announced at a price point of 62,790 yen ($539), Kutaragi stated that due to complaints from retailers the price would be dropped to 49,980 yen ($429). The news left many in the US wondering if they would be given a reprieve on Sony's expensive new console, as well. Unfortunately, though, that does not appear to be part of the company's plan.

Speaking to GameSpot, Sony Computer Entertainment America President Kaz Hirai said, "In the US, we're comfortable with the pricing that we announced at E3 -- $499 for the 20 gigabyte version and $599 for the 60-gigabyte version. There are no plans right now to adjust the pricing for the US market."

Hirai did confirm, though, that the 20GB model would ship with an HDMI port in the US, as it will in Japan.

60GB HDD vs 20GB plus 599 includes wifi & flash media ability, however you're supposed to be able to upgrade with USB of both of those.

Still not worth it, IMO. I wont be getting one, which i'm shocked to say. I've been VERY loyal to playstation the last 10 years or so, but it stops here. I'm sure I'll enjoy the 360 just as much as I enjoyed the PS2.

Me too. If Sony put's Rumble back in the controllers than i'll buy one probably the premium unit.

Oblivion to be PlayStation 3 launch title

1UP.com's RadiOPM recently announced that a new PlayStation 3 launch title would be revealed in the November issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM), however, it seems that the secret may have been leaked on another 1UP podcast service, 1UP Yours.

While talking about Oblivion and its suspected expansions, a 1UP Yours podcast host let it slip that Oblivion will be making its way to the PlayStation 3 and that it will be a launch title. This seems to fit previous clues offered by RadiOPM- the name of the game would be five words long and it was be a game which was previously not announced for the PlayStation 3. The full name of Oblivion is indeed five words long, "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" and the game has so far been an Xbox 360 exclusive when it comes to consoles.

Oblivion making its way to the PlayStation 3 has almost been as hotly debated as the exculsivity of Asassin's Creed, with Sony fans claiming that it would be a matter of time before a PlayStation 3 version of the action RPG would be announced.

We at PS3Land are holding our breath until official confirmation comes in. If Oblivion is indeed to be a PlayStation 3 launch title, it will be hitting shelves in North America on November 17th.

Apparently the OPM magazine came out today and confirmed this...
