I really hope the parking lots are well lit and there are a couple security guards at the entrance of the stores, otherwise some people's launch plan could be to wait outside the store for the constant stream of free PS3s.

It happened with the PS2.

I'm not against people selling these things on ebay for more money. I wonder what has happened to the time when people would camp out because they were hardcore gamers to get the system so they can play it. I guess the way that prices have gone up on everything, every opportunity to make a dime needs to be taken advantage of.

I think when Sony and Microsoft started fleecing gamers the way they have, the good times were officially gone. I may catch some flack from some for saying that, but a game console shouldnt cost this much money. I know we need to pay for technology, but this is kinda rediculous. $300 should be the max these consoles are priced.

Yeah, for what there putting into them, they probably are. I'm saying I dont really think we need all that their putting into them. I dont want a high def dvd player or a blu ray player. I want a gaming system, not an entertainment system. It just seems their leaving the pure gamers out of the mix.

With the new PS3 impressions thread, I'm removing the sticky from this.

The system is now officially out. Use the impressions thread for impressions of it so far.

EDIT - changed my mind, this thread is huge, just going to lock it up.
