Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion Part II
I like to play a cross between a fighter and stealth. Good long sword skills, but marksman and some stealth as well.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion Part II
I'm going with a thief character. My skills will be Marksman, Blade, Light Armor, Sneak, Security, Athletics, and Acrobatics. I usually do the warrior tank-types, but I'm looking forward to being stealthy and thinking out my actions, rather than just rumbling through.XBL: Mean Greene

Yeah, I know what you mean, fishepa. I still have yet to really dive into the mage and alchemy side of the Elder Scrolls games. I'm going to have create a couple of characters for Oblivion.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion Part II
Originally posted by NovaStarI am attempting to recreate a Legolas type character, what you have here seems to be the exact match or close to it. I can't wait to get one of those ranger robes. Question, would a ranger be considered a thief type character?XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion Part II
One thing I won't like is how long the first section takes. I have a bad habit of starting over with different characters, so am really trying to get it right this first time.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion discussion Part II
I am using an all-out warrior. At first, I used a dark elf, who was pretty balanced overall. But, as usual, I decided to go all combat. I wanted to try something new, but in the end I caved. I must admit, being a thief or assassin sounds pretty cool.
On a side note, be aware there IS a difficulty slider in the options menu. I spent over an hour getting my butt kicked in one area over and over. I wish I had adjusted the difficulty level. This game is so big, and is going to take so long, I just don't have time to keep dying over and over again. I do have family obligations, so just finding time to play can be a pain in the neck. I put the difficulty slider at about 1/4 (1/2 is default), so we'll see how that goes. I want it to be a challenge, but no TOO much.
Love the game so far. It is a problem fighting in the caves and mines because it is so dark once you swith from torch to weapon. But it is a really impressive, immersive game.
