Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion

I think if you were getting it on console, the Anniversary edition, it wouldn't matter which console. The reason it was choppy on the PS3 is because it was a ported game and not much was done to refine it because the PS3 was relatively new at the time it came out and developers didn't know the software too well. I'm sure, however that they probably fixed the PS3 version for the release of the new edition.

I'm not saying which one to get, just saying that it might not matter (if you were concerned about the game) which console you get it for.

BTW I have a PS3 and I think it runs well, it might get choppy at some loading points, but only for a second or two

The Anniversary edition is the same old game as. There is no update or difference other than the packaging and maybe some extras. I heard the $10 off "coupon" for skyrim is terrible too. You have to cut out the upc code on your case and some other thing, mail it in, and you get a $10 visa gift card. Skyrim also has to be the MSRP price of $59.99 too otherwise you don't qualify for the gift card.

Oh wow I had no idea. Good thing I kept the Shivering Isles and not get rid of it for the Anniversary edition. And trust me I am completely ok with paying full price for Skyrim

According to the description on Amazon, the Anniversary edition includes the major DLC. Shivering Isles should be a part of it. I was actually eyeballing the game because I've never played it and was thinking about getting it. For $29.99, I don't think all of that is a bad deal.

I just started playing this game (just a little late to the party?) and my mind is blown at how gorgeous and deep this game is, considering it came out over 5 years ago. Wow.

The DLC (Idk what system you're getting it for) but if you had the original TES 4 for XBOX you missed Knights of The Nine DLC (came with PS3 version)

The KoTN DLC is pretty much just a huge a quest (maybe a couple hours long) but the perk at the end is some pretty decent Armor.

The Shivering Isles unveils a brand new world (effin beautiful too). Lots more side quests, more dungeons, more locations, more everything! And the main quest line all together adds more than 50+ hours of gameplay. If you have not had the full TES IV experience (Oblivion + KoTN + SI) Get the Anniversary edoition NOW!!! IT is worth it!!!!!!!

I screwed something up and had to reinstall. The game itself is only 6.5 gigs but I deleted 12. I had nothing but races and a couple of visual mods yet they took up 6 gigs. 6 gigs of new races.

Yeah gotta be real careful when you use those big mods, it's so easy to screw something up.

That's why I didn't start the actual game and was still testing things. Was going to delete all those races I didn't plan on using anyway so I wouldn't have all those .esp files active.

Not mine but in case you need motivation to wait for a GOTY/complete edition of Skyrim or just a $5 sale on Steam...

I did end up getting the Anniversary Edition of Oblivion. Put in probably 50 hrs already, apparently (*shudders*), and I've barely done anything with the main quest despite being like a level 25 Scout. I'm kind of rolling through all of the fighter's guild and mage guild quests at the moment. By the way, I really, really hate dread zombies. Those things just don't die.
