Which game turned you into a diehard gamer?

It seems to me that most of us here are pretty serious video and pc gamers. Thinking back, can you peg the game which started it all for you?

Super Metroid is the game which made me sit up and say "Hey, I like games more than I thought I did." Up until then I limited myself to a few sports games and anything Star Wars(which there wasn't much of, and lousy at that).

After playing Super Metroid I began to search out games from all types of genres. I was about 24 when the gaming bug bit me after spending my college and army years thinking games were kind of stupid. Over the last 14 years very few weeks have gone by that I didn't played a game at least once during the week.

Anyway, Super Metroid is the game that fried my brain and introduced me to this great hobby.

Probably the incredible late-night sessions of Perfect Dark.

Probably Counter-Strike as far as gaming goes.

Wasn't my first game but it definately got me addicted to games.

Zork 1, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Bards Tale.

I don't really remember the game. Probably Donkey Kong or Pac Man. I got hooked when I was so short I had to stand in a chair to see the scree (arcades).

Then my uncle brought home an Atari with Enduro and Combat.

Heck, I was probably "hooked" after Pong.

Combat for the Atari 2600....from then on I was hooked on gaming.

Dune 2 was the first game I can remember playing all day.

Microleague Baseball for the Apple IIe. I played many games prior to that (PacMan, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Galaga, etc.), but this was the first game that occupied tons of my time. I drew up a MLB schedule on paper, had the computer play out the games, and I kept track of the standings on paper. This game kept me occupied for an entire summer vacation...

Super Mario Brothers on NES got me hooked, and then the Zelda series made me go crazy playing the game all night at times.

I'm from the same era. The Track And Field games, Might And Magic, etc. But I have been a gamer since the days of Pong. Had the Atari 2600, Colecovision, etc.

Probably Super Mario Bros when I first got an NES.

Then I had a resurgence w/ Madden on the SNES and have owned (regretfully sometimes) ever edition since '92.
