Mega Man 2 got me into games, and it's still one of my favorites.

I didn't play that much in high school - until I picked up Half Life and started playing it online, specifically Team Fortress. Since then, been hooked to online shooters, still play Halo 2 online.

I was a casual gamer pretty much through the 90's. Then, WCW/NWO Revenge for the Nintendo 64 hit. I was a huge WCW fan. My girlfriend/future wife bought me the system and game for my birthday. My older brother, and my best friend, would play that game for hours...daily. Since then, it's been all downhill.

To be young again and game all day and night with your buddies. No wives, no responsibilites, no anything.

I remember when Wrestlemania 2000 came out for the N64, my buddy and I went from store to store to find it, got it and a Nintendo 64, came home, 2 other buddies came over, we played it all night.

Earl Weaver baseball on the PC(1986).

Now I'm old enough to have played the 2600, and Intellivison when they were both new, and even played pong in the late 70's.

Earl Weaver baseball however totally changed my perception of gaming. Seeing the words "Baseball Simulation" on the box and then playing the game it made me realize that games could provide a higher level of mental stimulation and not just be about dexterity, reflexes and pattern recognition.

No idea. If I had to guess I would say Excitebike,Kung-Fu,Toe Jam & Earl,NHL Hockey,Super High Impact or maybe Mutant League Football. Those are the ones I remember playing the most.

The 2 most diehard things I can remember doing....at a friend's bday party me and one of his other friends I didn't really know stayed untill 10 am (party starting about 6pm the previous night) playing Madden '95 and a few other games and me playing MK 2 in the arcade for about 2-3 hours on 1 quater using only Liu Kang then switching to Scorpion that only last 3 more matches.

Actually, I don't consider myself anything close to a "diehard gamer," but I found games to be more fun years ago when it was more about creativity and originality, and less about graphics and being flashy.

i was pretty much hooked from the moment i started playing my nes. however, the first game that really blew me away was Metal Gear Solid. after playing through that i realized that videogames were capable of amazing things.

This is easy, I was hooked from the start. The very first console game I ever played was Kung Fu. I'd spend hours playing that game along with Super Mario Brothers.

Goldeneye was the gate way game, Ghost Recon was the problem.

Karateka (don't run up on the chick at the end, she's deadly..old heads will remember) and Montezumas Revenge, both on the Apple II

I agree that those AKI wrestling games were freaking great....

I still have my N64 which includes: No Mercy, WM 2000, WCW Revenge, and WCW World Tour...I will own those games 4 Life :wink:

Missing the best one...Virtual Pro II Wrestling. The Japanese version of the series. Japans copyright laws are different than in the US, so Virtual Pro featured nearly all of the moves, gear, finishers, taunts and intros from both the WCW and WWF superstars. This is the only game where you could make accurate caps for just about every major wrestler and shoot fighter ever born....
