It does look nice, but with last year's unveiling of the "target" screenshot and movie (ahem, KillZone for PS3 and Madden for Xbox 360), I have lost all enthusiasm for any screenshots or videos until they're taken directly from gameplay, corroborated by a third-party.

That can be hard to find nowadays, since nearly every developer has now become fond of making spectacularly-rendered one-off images or videos, and then when pressed, admitting that what was displayed is what they "expect" the game to look like.

It's an awful trend in marketing; designed to dupe the customer and create unwarranted "buzz". I don't know for certain that this shot falls in that category, but it's not a stretch to think so.

As the Russian proverb goes: Доверя́й, но проверя́й, or "Trust, but verify".

That joint looks like a lot of those dragon movies that slip my mind. I mean, everything looks great. Still, sdrotar makes a great point and kind of hits it on the head. I'm definitely going to keep any eye open on this sucker. That screen sure does a lot for me, but I'd be even happier when I hear the impressions and see videos.......

I agree with you, comrade Drotarov...screenshots (and even videos) do nothing for me unless it's close to a game releasing. 90% of the early stuff is either "concept art" or rendered, and anyone can render something to look great, it's how it looks when you play that matters.

That clearly looks in-game to me with a cinematic camera view to show off the detail. I don't see what is so impossible to believe, it's just as technically impressive as Gears of War. Factor 5 is one of the best devs in world, as far as, pumping out graphics too.

Exactly, I guess noone sees the life bar on the far right and D-pad commands on the top left corner...Factor 5 is no ""Guerilla games"" they're more than proven in the graphical department.

I think anticipating anything based off such early info is dangerous ground. Sony and its publishers have no choice right now but to keep tantilizing us with the promise of "the future is brighter" since X360 is already on shelves with next gen gaming.

I'll wait until November and the actual release of system/titles to make my ruling on this stuff.

I wouldn't doubt Factor 5 when it comes to graphics, they're some of the best in the world. Lair looks great so far.

I saw them. I also saw all the playcalling screens in the Madden trailer, too...
Those, if you'll remember, turned out to be 100% bogus.

If you believe that a life bar and command grid in a single image make it "real" - well, there's a lot of PR firms that will be very happy to hear that.

I never said it was fake - I don't know either way. I'm merely pointing out that we've been burned before by such things, and it's wise to be skeptical.

Although I would love to believe this is an actual in game screenshot, my skepticism says otherwise.

I guess we will have to wait and see if it's true. This along with another number of games will be playable at E3.

I agree, i will only believe a video that Sony puts out at a conference if i see someone playing it..and its actually gameplay.

Sony is known for lying, they said the killzone demo was realtime...
