This is a very important day. Just tell your boss that the Locusts are coming and you must stop them, so your not coming into work.

you: I'm not going to make it into work today, I've got some things I've got to take care of.

boss: Like what?

you: Today is the day that thousands of underground locusts are emerging from their holes in the ground and I have been chosen, along with 2-3 others, to stop their advancement and save the world as we know it. I'll even get to play with a chainsaw!


in all honesty, I have 4.5 sicks days left that expire at the end of the year. With GH2, Cod3, and GoW all coming out today, I am strongly considering coming down with food poisoning tonight and not coming in tomorrow. I told that to my friend last night and he said you have a good job, you own a house, you are successful and you are going to skip work to play video games...nice

i've listened to 2 podcasts this morning (1up, oxm) and they all had extensive time with the game and they kept on and kept on about the graphics. Now I see what they were talking about. Those maps look amazing.

The only thing that I fear will hurt the replay value for me is the lack of a realistic setting. There is something that just gets old to me when I am shooting aliens in the future. I much prefer WWII games and realistic settings.

Regardless, you would have to be a moron to not try this game with the reviews and publicity it is getting.

Hmmm

not sure how to read into this.

Same here. I guess you could say, even with those problems, it still has nothing but praise or, with those problems, it might end up turning me off to the game in the long run.

Yeah, I think it's one death and done in each of the three mutliplayer modes. (at least from what I read and the video review I watched) It should of been an option if you ask me.

Can you please post some impressions when you get the game. I'm really looking for multiplayer impressions, but anything is better then nothing. Let us know what you think when you get it. Ill have something to look forward to while at work.

and the lowest score from the other major review sites is 9.4. Quit reading anything into it and go buy the damn thing!

I'm getting it, but still a little iffy..Just becase the lack of depth on the mutliplayer modes and that's why I buy first person shooters. I think it's going to be a good game, but how much replay can you have with four on four and only three game modes? At least with COD 3 and RB6 coming out, it's not like I won't be able to switch game to game and get tired of one so quickly.

That is awesome but has its downsides as well.

I'm a huge fan of the elimination game modes, like going back to Return to Castle Wolfenstein that was probably my favorite.

Then again after a while that can get boring so its nice to be able to have the choice to have respawns.

Just came back from my little spot around the coner from my job with GOW and COD3, whoo hooo I will be having some freaking fun tonigt, all the other stores I called this mornig who told I wouldn't be able to get GOW until friday because they were sold out already, and for the store who said I couldn't get COD3 until tomorrow can kiss my white @ss....Both game sit right in from of me right now, I wont be able to play until after about 6 or 7 tonight, I got things to do after work wich sucks...Anyway

Unlike others, i enjoy reading the review instead of just looking at the numbers. A game has to play good and not just 'wow' me the whole time. There are many games which have gotten high scores across the board, yet i didnt enjoy it. And vice versa, some games getting mediorce scores and i have loved the game.

The reason to 'read' into the comment is that once the novelty wears off, will the game still be able to stand as a great game, despite the issues with it.

Too many times there have been releases where the game is best thing since sliced bread, and a couple of weeks later no one touches it anymore.

Still picking it up, but that comment does make me raise an eyebrow.
