Re: Nintendo Wii Information, hardware, games discussion

I'm getting pretty damn excited for this console. I already have a 360 but haven't been playing it that much. That will probably change with SVR2007, but that's only one game. This console looks innovative and plain old fun, something video games haven't really been lately with messing with sliders and all that stuff. I can't wait to play Wii Sports because of the innovation and it's something I've always wanted, having my movements dictate what happens on screen. And with sports like golf and boxing it fits perfectly. I can just imagine what basketball game will be like on this console. This also looks like it'll finally give Madden new life to me becasue of how stale its gotten. The old games are icing on the cake.
Anyone know if any older games will be available at launch?

Ballerz, there should be a couple links to IGN with the VC titles at launch. To make it easier, I'll help.

I almost feel the same about Madden, that the Wii will bring new life to a football game that has really been lacking the last few years.

when does the new Mario game come out? That's probably when I'll get a Wii.

This Spring I believe. Something about Mario Galaxy isn't really clicking with me. I really wish they would go back to the whole Super Mario Brothers concept, but I'll probably end up buying it anyway.

I wasn't a big fan of Super Mario Sunshine and I'm afraid that this will be more of the same.

So what are your guys thoughts on Red Steel? I've heard some conflicting things. Would that be the firstperson shooter to go with or would COD3 be a better choice?

I'm taking the "wait and see" approach with Red Steel. I get the overall impression from IGN that the game is really fun and keeps you wanting to play it, but it seems like there are a few kinks in the controls to be worked out. Whatever. I'll be busy going through 70 hours of Zelda and 3 Resident Evil games. Not to mention SONIC, ToeJam & Earl, Super Mario, etc.

Red Steel is not on my radar, only Zelda and Trauma Center. Then there are a few VC games that I want. I think I may pickup a Cube title or two to go along with the launch.

If this person is getting this much on a pre-order for a Wii, I'm buying a few systems on launch to try and make some $$$$. Just WOW

Thats almost twice the price! I'm going to laugh my *** off when these things won't be hard to find between now and Christmas. Sure, there may be a wait, but seriously, 4 million systems by the end of the year!

That is crazy. I missed the boat to pre-order but I figure that I can find one before or after Christmas.
