Closest to my house is a Gamestop, but the coupled launch hoopla will bring that store to its knees.

Toys R' Us is my first option, Sears my second, and Sam's Club & Target are the "stand-bys". I'm trying to avoid Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. for the same reason as Gamestop.

I called 2 TRU stores within a 15 mile radius from each other and they sold out first thing this morning. They only had about 17 preorders. Many on other boards have been saying that TRU is trying to create all kinds of hype for the Wii. If I do decide to get this thing for sure as I do have a small iffyness about getting the Wii, I'll just get to the Best Buy or Walmart 2-3 hours before they open. My best bet would be the Best Buy that is getting 100 Wii's.

Yeah people were camping out at TRU for the second preorder(one last week). I went there at 8:00am and they were sold out. I think its going to be harder to get a Wii than people think.Well my local Target is getting 120 and my BB is getting 96. I guess i will find out Sunday

Just get to whichever store you plan on buying one from a few hours before they open up. I need to make up my mind on this ASAP since I recommend getting Gamecube accessories as I have a feeling those will be gone by launch. You will need memory card and controller if your going to play BC. Many stores that I go to, they don't care much of xbx or GC accessories anymore.

Re: Nintendo Wii Information, hardware, games discussion

I'll try getting one this weekend, but if I come up empty, I'll wait. I've seen enough to finally want one, but if I have to go way out of my way, I'll wait until Metroid comes out.

If I do get one this weekend, it'll be great to play Wii Sports and all, but I'll actually be happy to fire up my old copy of NFL 2K3 I've had for damned near forever. I never sold it, because Gamecube games don't yield anything more than $5 on eBay, sometimes including shipping.

I would say Target should be your #1 and Circuit City and Best Buy should be your stand-by stores.

I meant my arms are tired. I think the Wii idea is cool, but I don't know if I can stand up and flail my arms like that while playing. I think it would be great for baseball or something but I don't know about fighting games.

I know what you meant, but you should realize that the movements in the commercial are exaggerated greatly. You aren't required to stand up and slash in bigass sweeping motions.

Yeah, Red Steel looked great. Much better than previous builds I've seen. Loved the sword play and the fact if you turn your hand sideways, so does the gun on screen.

The only thing that kind of caught me off guard was the busted Wiimote during the Monkey Ball session. I wonder if it's because they were kind of rough with the controller during Monkey Ball or a defective controller out of the box.

I hope I'm able to get a system easily on Sunday, even though it looks like my area is getting a sh*tload of Wii's, but you never know.

I bet that the Wii also helps people lose some weight also with all the motions. That would be a good advertising tool. LOL!
