in the case of the 2 different ps3 being released, will a 60 hd perform better than a system with 20, or is that only extra space for game saves?

lack of vibration is a big deal. wil the ps2 controller be compatible, and will sony continue to sell them due to the lawsuit?
edit: does sony currently make a 'cordless' ps2 controller? and could they make one in the future or due to the lawsuit are they now forbidden to make vibrating controllers from now on?Last edited by kennytomson; 05-09-2006, 06:43 AM. -
Re: ps3 controller
It's a HUGE deal to me. It's become a mainstay of videogaming over the years. Heck I just went and bought me a Logitech RumblePad 2 for my PC because that's what i'm use to.
To me a controller with no Rumble is like playing a game without audio. Nice move SONY !Comment

I apologize if this was posted, please delete it if it was.
The "cheaper" PS3 will have...wait for it...NO HDMI!!!!! "The 20GB version, priced at $499, will not have Memory Stick, SD, or Compact Flash inputs, Wi-Fi capabilities, or any HDMI output." (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6149552.html). Also as a side note in the story, the new controller will not have a vibration feature.
WOW!

Guys and Gals- Everywhere on the web people are crying about the prices of the ps3 and I find that wierd. Before this press conf by sony people all over would say 5-6 hundred dollars was fine. Why is that? I believe that people are stunned about what they saw. Yes it is early and the ps3 only comes out in Nov but the Ps3 graphics and capabilities aren't leaps and bounds above the 360 in fact aren't much different at all. What do you think about the price and why have you changed your mind not to get a Ps3?
For me I have waited till I got more info on the Ps3 at E3 and I will wait out the week to decide what to get but I was extremelly upset at Sony's conf. Afterwards I thought well maybe I can fork out 500 bucks for the 20 gig system. Yeah it's a little more then I thought but maybe. But The thing is when I heard the 499 version doesn't come with mem stick, hdmi slots that was it. I refuse to pay 600 dollars for 1 console. What are your thoughts about the price and the 2 system choices you have from SonyComment

Re: Sony's Price Points!!!!!!!!!
The problem is more than just price. The PS3 Core is lacking feature of the $599 model. That's huge and I don't see how they can add those later on. At least with the 360 you go buy everything in the Premium system if you bought the core.
I say many times over "NO RUMBLE IS A HUGE PROBLEM" for me. That's the tipping part, into the it's not looking good for a PS3 purchase for me.
The other huge problem with the price is that it's not just $499 or $599. It's the fact you need to consider a few games, controllers, extended warranty and taxes to go along with the $499 or $599. That will easily get you in the $800-$900 range before walking out the door.
It's like wanting to buy that real expensive Sports Car only not to factor the insurance in the purchase.Comment

Re: Sony's Price Points!!!!!!!!!
I also think this is more about the BLU-RAY Tech than anything. Listen guys I firmly believe this tech is more for the purpose of MOVIES & not GAMES. For me this is a dis-service all to the people who thought about buying a PS3 for gaming purposes.
Sony is putting all their chips into this tech, which isn't even proven. I am a HUGE Home Theater Buff. I have over 1,000 DVD Movies @ home. There is no way I'm just gonna abandon those movies to buy either HD-DVD/BLU-RAY movies anytime soon. I probably ain't the only-1 thinking this way either. Unless I'm forced to buy either tech(regular DVD go by the waist-side) I will not be getting either tech anytime soon.
Nobody even knows if either tech is gonna succeed. Look @ UMD.. No thanksComment

Re: PS3 "Core" System to be Stripped Down in More Ways..
Seriously, i think sony thinks they can spew out anything and gamers will buy it. 499 for a stripped down model without even the possibilty of later upgrades? Thats insane! 599 for a game machine! They are going to be slapped pretty hard in the face this fall. Most people that would buy this are going to be younger, not much money coming their way kind of guys. 399 for the 360 seemed like a lot, but 599, thats pushing it to the obscene."Basketball may have been born in Massachusetts, but it grew up in Indiana." - James NaismithComment
