As for your first question, they did say the hard drive would be used for caching games to optimize load times, and thus the bigger hard drive may improve performance a bit in that regard. I'm not a computer expert though, so I am not really sure if my assumption holds any weight. Someone correct me if I'm offbase.

I don't think you can use a DualShock 2 on a PS3, at least, it doesn't look like there's a place to plug it in.Originally posted by kennytomson

aren't they pretty much going to leave pricing in the hands of the devleopers?Originally posted by backbreakerI saw the pics of both versions and the biggest thing to me was in small print "product subject to change without notice" so with that said, their is more news to come and the Tokyo Game Show is where you will get all of the finalized information. People harp about the price, but they pretty much even one another out. PS3 online is free(for how long don't know) so if you spend your annual fees on X360 you will eventually pass the price of the PS3."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Yeah but developers won't charge you to play online.Originally posted by SoMiss2000aren't they pretty much going to leave pricing in the hands of the devleopers?
They left it up to the developers last time. SOCOM charged a 1time fee of $1 (was just a deposit though), and the MMORPGs of course charged you but they will always do that.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

dont be so sure about that. Just because because they didnt charge for the PS2 doesnt mean it wont happen here.Originally posted by Ice Cream TruckYeah but developers won't charge you to play online.

I agree about the vibration. Do you think that future EA sports games will continue to support this feature for the 360 when PS3 comes out or will they scrap it?Originally posted by kennytomsonnoone answered my questions:
-does the size of a hd effect the machine's performance?
-will you be able to use the dualshock 2 with the ps3?
sony not settling the lawsuit like microsoft is a huge loss for them, sports games are going to be hurt by lack of vibration on the ps3. also sony pushing their 'blue ray' is crap since its raising the price so much. strop trying to sell the meida trojan horse and sell me an affordable, durable gaming machine. if xbox360 makes it through to november without any major problems (disc load error, etc.), a may have to reconsider. My School's National Championships:

No way, because it's a minor controller configuration. It's no different than turning off "Vibration ON/OFF" in the games options.Originally posted by UNLV_1999I agree about the vibration. The 360 will continue to have Rumble and the PS3 controller will not. Also keep in mind that any PS3 EA Sports game will be a port from the Xbox360 so says EA.

That makes sense that they will be a port from the 360. I never thought about it before. Makes sense since 360 was first to market with their next gen system.Originally posted by RodsterNo way, because it's a minor controller configuration. I am kinda of torn on which to purchase. The vibration function is a nice feature and playing sports games without it would definitely be noticable for a while at least,
The only reason why I am considering the PS3 is because they will have at least 2 major league baseball choices while 360 will only have one.My School's National Championships:

I agree, next gen is going to be big business and I'm sure the developers will decide to cash in along with Sony, MS, and Nintendo.Originally posted by aholbert32dont be so sure about that. Re: ***The All Sony PS3 Price and Features Thread***
That Kutagari dude done lost his damn mind:
"Krazy Ken's at it again. Following the surprise pre-E3 announcement of the PlayStation 3 price, Sony Computer Entertainment head Ken Kutaragi spoke with Japan's IT Media and offered up this beauty: "It's probably too cheap."
In case you skipped out on Monday's press conference, here's the deal. In addition to showing a slew of game demonstrations, Sony Computer Entertainment's Kaz Hirai announced launch specifics for the system. PS3 will go on sale first in Japan on 11/11 at a price of 59,800 yen for a 20GB model, with a 60GB model set at open pricing. The US will get the system on 11/17 with cost set at, respectively, $499 and $599.
Kutaragi explained to IT Media why be believes the price isn't a problem:
"This is the PS3 price. Expensive, cheap -- we don't want you to think of it in terms of game machines. Because the PS3 is like nothing else.
For instance, is it not nonsense to compare the charge for dinner at the company cafeteria with dinner at a fine restaurant? It's a question of what you can do with that game machine. If you can have an amazing experience, we believe price is not a problem." (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/706/706133p1.html)
