Cool that you can surf the web.

That's cool about surfing the net.

It's using the PSP Menu system which is cool.

Didn't they train their reps on the functionality of the system. This poor girl had to dance her way around some of the questions by that one guy.

pretty nifty... the rep wasnt completely knowledgable but unless you got the developer standing there, I doubt you could get anymore answers.

I don't like the PS3 menu system one bit. I felt the same about the PSP's menu system...too much navigating trying to find what you're looking for.

The 360's dashboard is no piece of cake either but I feel it has a better layout.

this really isn't all that surprising considering that Sony had several variations of the PS2:

*the launch
*the ones whose boxes had the plus sign in the lower right hand corner to show that the laser eye was of better quality
*the ones with the network adapter
*the slim


I know there were others but I can't remember them right now

The plus sign ones were where they introduced Progressive Scan DVD playback, nothing with the laser.

I liked the PSP's "Navigation menu" and the 360's "Menu Blade System". Granted both aren't the easiest to find things, but what are you going to do with so many options on the screen? The more they offer the more things need to be grouped with each other making it more difficult for the end user to find these things.

I think that were talking about 2 different things on variations and versions. I think that Sony will try to corner this console market by offering different variations of the PS3 like a PC. By the end of next year (2007), there might be 3-4 different PS3 consoles out there that are running the same hardware, but they all may have different features. There might be a console at say, $399, $499, $599, or $699. Each one is going to have more to offer than the other.
