    Re: Assassin's Creed

I need some help. I just finished my first three assassinations so now I'm back in Damascus for the second time. I've scaled all the viewpoints and I've saved every citizen. Now I'm just walking around the city doing nothing but starting fights with thugs. My status says I am 0/6 in investigations but there are no investigations for me to begin. Where do I find them?

That's weird. Go back to the assassin's bureau and see if that guy says anything. Doing all of the viewpoints in the rich section should open all of those up. I'm in the same area of town and haven't had a problem. Now, if you killed the "preachers" and people you're supposed to eavesdrop on, I have no idea what that does. I always figured they would come back anyway.

I suck at assassinating. I always end up in big sword fights with some guards and the target.

I want to just sneak up, put the hidden blade through his throat, and then run away. I hate fighting the target with a sword.

Well, just saw a friend of mine playing this game and it looks much more difficult than I thought.

I'm more interested in this again but first I gotta buy and play through Mass Effect.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The fighting is more difficult than the impressions lead to believe. I stopped for the evening right at the beginning of Talal's assassination mission.

It's hard at first but it got alot easier for me, so easy that I could just go through town fighting everybody and not dying.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I've done 5 assassinations so far and I'm really enjoying this game. I'm taking my time and doing all the side missions before each assassination. They do get a little repetitive but not enough to get boring and they can provide useful information to help you plan out your assassination. The first couple of assassinations I didn't really do much planning but by the fifth I had the entire plan in place before I started including the escape route I would use.

The fighting is mostly about timing your moves and once you get that down it's not hard to take down a lot of guards at once. I'm also spending a lot of time on the rooftops killing off the guards and searching for flags. I'm not in a big hurry to burn through to the end.

What really shines in this game are the graphics and the atmosphere. It feels like a living, breathing world and you're the baddest *** in town. Gotta love that.

the fighting is hard at first until you unlock the counter attack. That is how I kill most of my enemies. Until you unlock the counter attack, attempting to fight the Templars is basic suicide. You have to stealth those suckers. Even with the counter attack I still struggle with them.

Just got the game, I must say.....

                              this game is pure CRACK

I played up till I finished the first assassination. This game is so good. Graphics are tight. Gameplay is tight. Story is tight. Everything is tight. Game of the Year IMO.

BTW I haven't had much of a problem with the Templars. Matter of fact, after the first assassination when I was heading back to the bureau, one of them followed me up to the roof. All I took was three swipes at him, didn't hit him but gave enough force to knock him off the roof.

Have to block their first attack. Do not try to counter it. He's going to break your defense. His 2nd attack is easier to counter.
