I know i'm late to the game, but I got it this last wednesday. My GF was going to give it to me for Christmas, but I had the week off of work and school due to the holiday, so she knew i'd have more time to play it now than then. All I can say is, "WOW". This game is awesome! I'm about 3/4 through medium, getting five stars on all the easy songs and most of the mediums.

My son named our band "Rockstar" (heh, he's five) and we picked the Flea looking punker.

One thing i'd like them to add for future versions, is the ability to create songs or solos to challenge your friends or yourself with. Kinda the same way Test Drive UL did with their challenges.

QFT; I struggle to get 73% through Freebird on expert. The part with the quickly descending four-note scales screws me up every time.

Just got my other guitar controller here at UVa, and playing Co-Op with this game is really a blast as well.

While I didn't score high (and had to use one star power bailout) three stars and 80% of the notes hit was still pretty damn cool.

To follow, I hit 95% on 'Beast' the other day, which was AWESOME!

Just tried a GH game (GH2) for the first time at Micro Center, tonight. Only played for a few minutes, but it does seem like a lot of fun. I'm picking up a PS2 this weekend as a change of pace from my 360, and GH2 will be on my Christmas list.

In other GH news, I've reached the final 2 songs on Expert in the original game. I'm not sure I'm capable of beating either CfH or BaTM.

Well, I was wrong on one count, at least - I just passed Bark at the Moon on Expert. And to be honest, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. Yes, I used star power to save my butt on both solos, but who doesn't? I did have to wing it on the second solo for about the last 5 percent of the song, and was flashing red at the end, but I still passed with 77%.

At least I can focus my full attention on Cowboys from Hell now, but it's going to be awhile before that one falls. I've only gotten out of the opening riff section 1 time, to the part with the constant Green-Yellow chords.

A while ago I heard somewhere that downloadable content (extra songs) was something RedOctane was looking into for the 360 version, and I know the new guitar controller for the 360 is modeled after a Gibson Xplorer, but other than that I don't think much news has come out about it.

some rumor i heard on some podcast (dont remember which one) was that the makers of the game had told them that the entire gh1 library would be up for downloadable content for the 360 version

That would be nice for you 360 owners for sure. I wish you could play the GH1 games on GH2 for the PS2. I don't think I'll ever be able to beat some songs like BaTM and Cowboys from the 1st one without having the practice mode that GH2 has.

I'm stuck on Freebird on hard and now I am back home without my PS2 for a month, that sucks.
