Encores are only in 'Guitar Hero II'. You can do an encore in Career mode after beating the fourth song on each tier...if you pass, the camera pulls back, you hear the crowd cheering, and then a question pops up asking if you can do one more. Then it's encore time!

I'll just add to this that, the final encore is amazing.

yeah I got that one yesterday. It was real cool. I guess after the final encore you have all the songs unlocked except the ones you can buy right? I played all weekend, it hurts to type today at work because of it. LOL

As the crowd pans back, you can hear random shouts for Freebird. I was pumped at this point. Then it gives you pop up after pop up, something along the lines of they're wanting freebird, are you ready? then you hit yes, and then its are you sure??? and there's a few more. Funny stuff IMO. Only played it once on medium, 4 stars, 89%. Not bad for my first time I guess.

Just finished Career Mode on Hard, and proudly four starred 'Beast and Harlot' and 'Freebird' on the first try! I almost lost it during the very last part of 'Freebird', but DAMN, that was a fun song to play.

I tried out Expert on 'Beast' and promptly failed at the 41% mark, the exact spot on the YouTube video that I predicted I would (when it starts doing the multi-note speed scales).

While the song list of this one wasn't as good IMO, it's still a damn fun game, and co-op with my wife is a blast!

As I was entering the final tier on my Medium playthrough and thinking ahead to Freebird, I had been thinking "Hmm, it's an encore. Wouldn't it be cool if they started chanting for it?" Sure enough.....

On another note, Freya on Hard is killing me. There's a riff that repeats forever at about the 3/4 mark, and I can't just stumble through it like I usually do on those parts when it's that long. I'm also having trouble getting more than 3 stars on the Hard songs (with a few exceptions - 97% 5 star on Strutter).

In other GH news, I've reached the final 2 songs on Expert in the original game. I'm not sure I'm capable of beating either CfH or BaTM.

As I was entering the final tier on my Medium playthrough and thinking ahead to Freebird, I had been thinking "Hmm, it's an encore. Wouldn't it be cool if they started chanting for it?" Sure enough.....

is there a way to know how far along in the song you are? That's something I wish they would add so I can know when to use the last of my star power for the songs I'm not familiar with.

I'm still playing the heck out of this game. I had a hard time moving up to Hard as well. I've 5 -starred all the songs on medium as well as all the bonus tracks, but hard level is still pretty tough for me. I think I'm at the 3rd location right now on hard. I beat Monkey Wrench and Them Bones, but lost right at the end of Search and Destroy last night. The way I play on hard mode depends on the song I guess. Sometimes I play the majority of the song with my index finger on the red button so I can hit the orange easily, but some songs are easier to just extend my pinky to the orange. I just use the practice mode a lot to figure out my strategy for the song.

I just beat Freya on Hard for the first time, that wasn't easy. The 6th stage (other then Trippin in a Hole) is giving me fits.

I have WAY too many games to play but GH2 is getting by far the most of my attention.

Well I jammed out on GH2 tonight before I pack up my electronics...and I amazed myself! After an hour and half of playing, I decided to try 'Beast and the Harlot' and 'Freebird' on Expert (the former scared the **** out of me with that YouTube vid prior to release).

I can now say I officially am a true Guitar Hero! Having never passed 40% of 'Beast', I promptly four starred it, and got through 'Freebird' with three stars! I don't know what it is, but even with the three button chords the sequel seems easier, since I can't even pass 'Crossroads' on Expert in the first one.

Just had to pass along my accomplishment...I love these games!

Impressive! I'm still plugging along on Hard. I got through two more locations lasts night. I stopped after the Sweet Child O Mine encore.
