I've still got my PS2, for a few games, but there's no way I can buy Guitar Hero right now, with the guitar, when I know my PS2 won't be around much longer. I know it's not that expensive, more just the principle i think.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

You may be waiting awhile. Red Octane has little incentive to release a new Guitar Hero any time soon for the 360 or PS3. They have an engine (and probably a cheap one) and an infinite amount of material for sequels and can basically pump out these supplements for very little. Where as developing a new engine and new controller for the 360/PS3/Wii will cost a lot of money that they really just don't need to spend at this point. My guess is when the sales start to slump or there is a demand for a re-design of the controller will we see Guitar Hero jump to the newer consoles.
I'm happy to see Gn'R will make an appearance on the next installment of Guitar Hero, but why Sweet Child O' Mine? I'd prefer something more "rockin" like Nightrain or Mr. Brownstone. Iron Maiden's The Trooper needs to be included in this game. I'd also be thrilled to see tracks from (and I believe some of these artists have been confirmed, but just in case): Dio, Danzig, The Misfits (circa 77-83), Slayer, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Living Colour, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, and many more but I'll stop there.Comment

For all those on the fence, scared of buying a PS2 only for this game, I have four words for you:
BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!
I just picked it up this afternoon and am having a blast. I sat on the sidelines, ignored the hype, was scared of dropping $70 (though I dropped double or triple on crappy 360 titles), but finally had enough after my crappy 360 trade-ins made Madden free.
I have never had so much fun playing a video game before. I started on Easy, sucked at first (never played guitar), and now am shredding pretty decent at Medium. Hard and beyond scare the **** out of me with that fifth fret button.
My son loves watching his father rock out, my wife rolls her eyes and takes embarassing digital photos, but this game totally rocks! I can't wait for the sequel with the dual guitar tracks (lead and bass), and my favorite songs so far are the one by Incubus and "Ziggy Stardust" (though I've enjoyed each and every one). The solo's are hard as hell, as are the songs where the tempo changes...but never once have I felt pissed at the game. It just makes me want to get better.

I think I would seriously drop some money on guitar hero 2 if Free Bird was the only song you could play. This has to have been the most requested song. That should be insane on expert.Comment

I think my wife is looking forward to this sequel just as much I am. She has been hearing the same songs for the past 4 months and I think she will smash my guitar to bits if she hears Killer Queen one more time.
For anyone STILL on the fence, you've got to find a way to at least try this game. It seems like it has been a while since anything other then a sports game has been able to hold my interest for a lengthy period of time. But almost every week since I got this game in May I still play at least a few songs every week. It's just sooo much fun, especially once you start to get really good at it. I used to fear Bark At The Moon, but now it's one of my favorite songs to play. One of these days I WILL 5 star that song on expert!!!LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Well, I found out some rather interesting things in this game on what you can do. First of all, I learned when and how to conserve my Star Power for each song. Secondly, I realized that the guitar controller is like a real guitar, in the sense that you can hold onto the lower fret buttons still if you're playing a higher fret button. HOWEVER, I still don't understand those insane solos... I don't see how they are possible to do, and I feel they are just in there to make the game difficult for even the best Guitar Hero.
JohnnytheSkin, funny you say that... those are my two favorite also, but then I also enjoy "More Than a Feeling" for the intro/pre-verse riff.
