I think I would seriously drop some money on guitar hero 2 if Free Bird was the only song you could play. This has to have been the most requested song. That should be insane on expert.

Man, when I first completed this game on Medium, I went to Quick Play and decided to give Bark at the Moon a shot on Expert. Since I failed in about 2 seconds, I was scratching my head, thinking, "How in the **** am I EVER going to beat this!?"

Well, I found out some rather interesting things in this game on what you can do. First of all, I learned when and how to conserve my Star Power for each song. Secondly, I realized that the guitar controller is like a real guitar, in the sense that you can hold onto the lower fret buttons still if you're playing a higher fret button. HOWEVER, I still don't understand those insane solos... I don't see how they are possible to do, and I feel they are just in there to make the game difficult for even the best Guitar Hero.



JohnnytheSkin, funny you say that... those are my two favorite also, but then I also enjoy "More Than a Feeling" for the intro/pre-verse riff.


I cannot wait for Guitar Hero 2!

The secret to mastering the most difficult songs resides in your ability to do hammer-ons and pull offs. I could never get the "feel" for either in the game like I can with a real guitar.

The next song they annouce better start out "There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold"

Edit with another new song,wich will probably be a bonus song as it seems this was given to them for free and I really can't see it being in the main game. The band is VOIVOD:

Piggy was their guitar player and is now dead,cool story from the same link.

"At Piggy's funeral last year, I brought my guitar for people to sign it, then we went to the river and tried to burn it, (didn't work) to finally throw the guitar off the bridge as a symbolic memoriam to Piggy... Remember? Well apparently three months ago, a teacher who lives in Chicoutimi (a few miles down the river) found the guitar. Looking at it, he didn't know what this was all about. All the signatures, the burn marks, and after a full winter, I guess the guitar was in pretty bad shape. So he kept it, and brought it to school wondering if students could possibly explain the wrecked guitar. One metal dude raised his hand and said I know what it is. It's a tribute to Piggy, Voivod's guitar player who died last year. The class went Ahhh! I hope the guy still has it. It's certainly a keeper."

Just do the quick tutorial, create your band and start on easy, and keep moving up from there. You won't want to put it down.

Believe me, you'll quickly ditch "Easy". I was getting five stars in no time (no prior guitar experience) and playing on "Medium" actually feels like playing guitar (chords, etc). "Hard" though, is insane! I can do the four fingers on the four fret buttons...doing that fifth and sliding, though, is impossible!

Believe me, you'll quickly ditch "Easy". I was getting five stars in no time (no prior guitar experience) and playing on "Medium" actually feels like playing guitar (chords, etc). "Hard" though, is insane! I can do the four fingers on the four fret buttons...doing that fifth and sliding, though, is impossible!

Yeah I did the first song on easy a few times and was getting 5 stars, then i bumped it up to medium and then they threw in that fourth note, i was a mess. How do you guys hold it for easy access to the 5th button with only four fingers to press? Do you guys ever use the thumb for the green button?

You move your hand down the fret board like you would on a normal guitar, you shouldn't need to use your thumb. On a regular guitar you'd have 6 strings and over twenty frets for four fingers. One of the frets on the Guitar Hero controller has a bump on it so you know where your fingers are placed via touch, I think its the yellow fret button but I don't remember. Just like with anything, you have to practice to get better.

You can try it by putting your 4 fingers on R,Y,B and O and then reach over for G with your index finger. I just use my pinky but I have big hands. If all else fails you can put it straight up and play the orange with your nose.

Probably 'cause Marcus left. He's the guitarist of Drist and he did the guitar on 20 of the songs in the main part of GH 1.
