Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is one of those games that doesn't have a ton of faults, yet isn't among the true classics of gaming. Despite a few welcome wrinkles to combat and character customization, this is pretty much the same game we have seen before. The level design and puzzles are a snooze, lacking any innovation. But who cares? This game is about gathering a few friends and laying the smack down on some villains. MUA is not a brilliant game, but it's fun. And that's all that really matters. If you love the pitter-patter of fingers on buttons, grab this game. It will satisfy the comic-book geek buried deep in your soul.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a feature-packed game; one of those rare birds that feels like arcade gaming, but with that next-gen edge that helps to justify $400+ dollars of hardware. It has a few glitches here and there, but the core gameplay is solid and quite entertaining for those that need a little RPG in their action game, or vice-versa. Pick this one up if you favor the Marvel camp (the character selection is excellent), or are just looking for a solid co-op style adventure for you and/or your friends to play.Comment

Re: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
That unlocks them so you can use them in your game? Are they unlockable through achievements in the game?Comment

Re: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
You can use them in game, I have both Daredevil and SilverSurfer with me right now. Those are the codes that came with Gamestop and Target purchases. They are also both unlocked later in game.Comment

Re: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Take Gauntlet, combine Xmen Legends, use Marvel Characters, and that's your game. I don't know **** for the characters either, only the ones from movies, but it's pretty cool. So far, very easy though, it'll be a blast online. Graphics aren't as good as I hoped though, kinda blah. I'm fighting Bullseye right now, I remember him from the movie...nothing like killing Colin FarrellComment

Re: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
It's action RPG, Sully. Think of it as a beat'em up 3d platformer with a lot of RPG elements (stat raising and allocating stat points are the main RPG elements). Each character and melee fight (punch, smash, and combo) and each character has their own set of 'powers' (i.e. Wolverine's claws, Iron Man's Energy Blasts, etc.) that makes them unique on screen. Some characters can fly, some are faster than others, some are stronger, etc.Comment
