If the game is like X-Men Legends 1 and 2 then you really can't lose buying this game. It reminds me of the old arcade beat em up games.

Guys, I know two reviews have been posted that describe the game in detail, but please tell me more about the game so I know whether or not to buy it. I don't like comics - will I like this game? When answering, please do not speak in terms of uber-popular games like Gauntlet, because I don't know what those are.

That's another decent analogy - side-scrolling arcade beat'em ups like TMNT, The X-Men 6-player game, stuff like that. Just in 3D, and with a lot of RPG elements.

Sorry if I don't trust the reviews from sites like IGN...and would rather hear opinions of those I do trust.

No offense to anyone, but Millennium's the only one to post some detailed impressions. I just wanted to hear some more...

It's a beat em up with RPG elements. So you're punching and kicking a lot. But having your super powers add strategy to it. Like right now I have the Fantastic Four teamed up, and we're running through this space station thing beating the hell out of everything in our sight.

Every character has a bunch of super powers that can be swapped out. I have 2 for every character right now. So like for Spiderman, I can shoot webs and do something when I'm walking on webbing, no idea what it does. Some guys can fly, like Human Torch, hit Y once to jump, again to double jump, if you can fly, the 2nd hit you fly. So Torch turns to flames and flys, Surfer flies, and Spidey webs along.

Not sure what else you need...

Not sure waht Sully is looking for, but I would like to know if the game is easy/hard, fun/boring, worth buying/not worth buying and things like that. Is the action fast paced or slower? I read you can switch between characters in a battle, do you find yourself doing that(if so, is it easy to switch?) or just playing as one character for each fight. What do you do between fights? Is it like a standard action game where you just keep walking in a given direction until you hit another fight or are there places to explore? How are the level designs, is it pretty much a one-path only type thing or can you choose different directions to go?

Those are the questions reading the reviews have made me think about, they sometimes get caught up in the specifics of the fighting controls and stuff and forget to give a good overall view of the game.

                - Very fun

                - fast, action paced

                - I switch constantly, it's easy to do so. In the bottom left is all 4 heroes you currently are using, each corresponds with the directional pad. Want to use Spidey and he's to the right, push right and he's yours. Easy and use it often.

-Seems to be a standard direction, but you can explore wherever.

-As you unlock new powers, the moves get really cool. It definitely has RPG elements.

                  Thanks

One more, could you expand on the levels a little more? Is it like walking down narrow halls the whole time or what? I really haven't read anything about the level design(one site said it was "good", thats it though) and I'm curious as to how the game is laid out. I've never played either of the X-Men games so I'm not sure what to expect.

                    Re: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Alright during lunch me and my buddies played this game. Unfortunately we didn't spend too much time with this game because we had to go back to work but so far it's great.

The normal difficulty is little too easy. Than again, it was only the first level. I expect to pick up next level. There are a lot of nice additions that weren't there before. For example you now have a power up hit which is b and you hold it to charge it up. Kind of like in the TMNT games but better. Now when you fly or glide with a character you can use your powers (Wasn't in the previous versions). I checked the upgradeable moves and the previous characters have a lot of new ones and some carried over from Legends. Characters like Spiderman or Silver Surfer which are new have nice ones as well. Just in love with some of Spiderman's, can't wait to get to level 20 to unlock them. Characters also have several costumes.

Graphics wise this game is good. Nothing else to say about that so far.

Gameplay if fun, just like the previous versions. AI seems to be smarter so far, combos and moves are really fun. First level doesn't give you too much to play around with enviroment wise. And of course web slinging is always fun.

Character selection is kind of weak IMO. They have some great hereos and than some why are they in the game heros?! From the line up I see myself only using Spiderman, DeadPool, Moon Knight, and Silver Surfer. I played out Wolverine in the Legends games. Haven't tried Dare Devil yet. Also kind of sucks Night Crawler and Gambit are in the game but are not playable.

If you liked X Men Legends 1 and 2 you will love this. No reason not to get it.

Can't wait to play this game tonight.

Hard to describe. Just kind of a level. The right stick moves the camera around and zooms in/out. They are like a normal action game, just 3/4 camera view, almost like Gauntlet. So you can have some levels that are open and big, and others that are inside a room. I'm not too far into it, but that's what I've seen so far.

Blockbuster seems like the place to go. Can rent the game and if it sucks take it back.

EG and I just had a ball online...went through the second level some...

                              Online co-op works like this:

                              - Host sets up room

                              - Host loads HIS campaign (as in whatever the hosts single player campaign is saved up to, my suggestion is to make multiple saves at the start of each level in single player so you can load up different levels for co-op)

                              - The characters used are the HOST'S BUILDS. That means if the host built Captain America one way in stats, and I built him a completely different way in my game, I am forced to use the host's build

Still, tons of fun. Online co-op, if set up correctly, should be a ball.
