1. Listing.
2. Percentage of final selling price on eBay.
3. 2% or so Pay Pal fee if you use it. Since eBay and Pay Pal are the same it's another eBay fee.Comment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
I have never seen this. People saying "bid high because I waited in line for 29 hours or help put me through college". This **** is funny. You got people taking pics with the console, all cheesing and starting bids at $2000 - $3000. This **** is funny. People think this is instant cash. The thing that's different than any other release is it seems like most people want to sell it instead of play it. I went to a couple of BB's, CC'c, Gamestops, etc. and most people just bought the console and that was it. Most people were going to sell it on EBay. I think people will be in for a rude awakening on EBay. When people don't pay or they don't go as high as they want them too. I think many people will be stuck w/a console they don't want because everybody else has the same idea to sell it on EBay.Comment

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
Why is it greed. The sellers put forth the effort to acquire the device. Supply and demand dictate the prices. They aren't breaking any laws. They aren't breaking any moral statutes. No one is forcing people to pay for the PS3 for a substantial amount over the MSRP. It's a free market.
I love when someone finds a way to make an honest buck, people call them greedy. They are selling the devices for the price the market will currently allow.
If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at Sony for creating such a shortfall in their hyped up product, not the people who put forth the time and effort to take advantage of the market.
It's a free market, but also the fake bidders are not held liable under any laws, so they can do whatever they want. People want to use Ebay because they think that will be the highest return they can get, however Ebay also has many negatives like fake bidding that can put a wrench into your plans. If they would just sell in their local area they would possibly lose out on some of the return, but they would be able to avoid most of the hassle.NCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)

Re: PS3 fans lashing out at all PS3 auctions!
its quite the advantage they take. which i consider greedy.. lets just artifically cut supply short and drive up prices.. sure its good business practices, but how many slimball business do you know?? its a cutthroat business. dont be confused with greed, good business practices and strategy, and being a good person. we may be looking at different variables. or associating the greed with a slimball, whom has a great business model, but happens to take advantage and pray on situations like thisComment

gas for example. lets say theres a known shortage.. lets say this guy with a milk truck decides its best to buy up as much gas as he can so he can resell it. he's essentially cutting the supply short from willing consumers at the market price.
for example sake let's say everyone has an equal chance to acquire the gas. so everyone owns the same size milk truck. but the majority of the people here would NOT take advantage of this situation morally speaking.
of course the dudes a genius for using his head to buy up all the gas. but he's still a slimball for artifically cutting supply. i guess its a matter of opinion.
good business man and strategy with the smarts to get it done.. YES
taking advantage of a bad situation to earn profits which could be looked at as a slimball move... YESComment

I love when people get on a moral high horse, and act as if making money is immoral.Comment

One person selling one item. Bought low and sold high. Tight supply and high demand inflated prices. The seller did not inflate prices by hoarding. You could accuse sony of that, but not they single ebay reseller.
This is free market. I don't see how buying low and selling high is slimeball, specially when the market forces are there to move the product at that inflated price. If the person held all the stock and was inflating the price themself, then sure it's a slimeball move.Comment

Yes, but this isn't one guy stocking up and hoarding ps3s to force the price up by artificially limiting supply like your milk truck filling up on gas example.
