Re: Left 4 Dead
lol I'll be honest, two of my teammates did most of the work. I was on tank duty so I anytime I'd see one I'll yell "TANK!" in my headset and we'd pull our shotguns out and go to work. But they pretty much took care of all the smokers and hunters.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Left 4 Dead
I havent read all the post, but im going to put my .02 cents in on this game. IMO its not worth $60. Zero, and i mean ZERO story. You basically pick a map(there is no order in which you have to pick the map) and kill zombies. Thats it. There is only a few types of zombies, and nothing that interesting(besides the smoker). Your weapons are bland, and most of the morons you play online just want to shoot you in the face. This game is a extra mode more or less in COD WOW.Comment

Re: Left 4 Dead
The notion that Left 4 Dead has no story is simply wrong. You may not like the way it's presented, because it's not done in a traditional way that we're used to seeing, but instead through the game's environments and the dialogue between the survivors.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Left 4 Dead
Exactly, read the walls in every safe house, listen to the dialogue, there's a story. It's almost presented as a reality show where the characters have cameras strapped to their head's.Comment

Re: Left 4 Dead
The way the story is presented is brilliant. Lack of catching it kind of shows that you have not put in the time with the game to truly understand it.
Each time you play through a STORY aka Campaign it is a different experience. One night you might run into a Tank or Witch in a certain chapter. It might take 2 weeks before you run into a similar experience.
Here is a example. Couple nights ago we were playing versus on Death Toll. We were in the lead so took to the chapter first. Right when we hit the tunnel with all the wrecked cars and such. The ground starts shaking, and I hear Bill hollar TANNNNNNKKKKK!!!!!. Boom a car comes flipping at me but manages to hit on his rear end and goes flipping and spinning righ over my head. Then this big monstrosity is charging at me. I start unloading into his chest as I am backpedaling. His big fist is about to crash down on me and I make a quick dodging step to the left and took out running the way he just came from. As he goes to chase me all my team mates start shooting him from behind. I was in green health and there was no zombies to slow me down so he realized he had no shot at catching me. So he turned around and started slamming cars at my team mates. Knocking down 2. While he was after the thrid I was able to turn around and get one of the buddies up. We continue unloading on this beast. Finially bringing him down after the most hectic 3+ mins ever.
Now my point of this small story is. The story changes everytime through. Dialogue like EG mentioned is presented in random ways at certain points and is perfect keeping it fresh. Then the safe houses and other areas have writings as another form of story telling. But the main selling point is each time you play through a Campaign it is a completely different story. It might take a dozen plays through before I run into a similar situation again.
I rank it as one of the best multiplayer games of 08.Comment
